That only happens if you get the Tyrian/Canthan Hero before doing the Battle Prep. quest. If you leave getting the necro 'til after, the Sunspear woman appears for ya.
And yeah, I guess it still needs fixing...
... just not as much as the no-quests/missions-after-Cemetary thing.

That may just be something your missing. Message me in game and I'll try to help you with that part.

That's exactly what I did. Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully, ANet will fix this problem shortly.

Since a new build was promised, i guess we get the message " a new build of guildwars is available, please restart the program" or something like that

I've been waiting for 13 hours to get this update. I even took off work just to play through.
Hey Anet guys... could we get another update on the status here? We are all kinda sitting in kamadan waiting on an update.
So much for being awake right at the launch. I could have just slept and got up at a regular time and been right where everyone else is.

We have the fix for this issue, as well as others, we are simply QAing the build before we put it live. As you can imagine, pushing an untested, potentially harmful build through is not a very good idea. I hope you can respect that, while we understand your frustration, we cannot in good conscience push a build live that could potentially cause more problems than it fixes.
We apologize for the delay; we are very eager to fix this problem for you, and will push the build through as soon as possible.

You guys need to calm down (and so do I ). You have to realize that with a videogame, changing one thing of code can alter multiple others in unexpected ways. As Andrew said, you wouldn't want the fix to the problem if it would cause more, even worse problems, now would you?
Predicting an accurate timeframe for the new build's release is just as difficult too. If their fix affected other parts of the game, it could potentially take days to find a safe fix (although, we hope this will never happen).

every company can update a critical software bug within 12 hours. there r people paying to use the software.
anyway i m into software dev too, so i know the problems. well they should take the time to test such things. special if u want to sell a software and if u want the ppl to buy it again. well i m personaly a bit pissed. one reason why i wont buy any m$ software anymore.

Well some kind of update just happened, but it didn't fix anything as far as I can see. (re: side quests)
The only way I've managed to progress and get off the island at least is to team up in a party with someone who doesn't have the bug.
Now I'm on the mainland I'm kind of able to follow the primary quests but there are absolutely zero side quests.
The plus side at least is I'm doing an awful lot of exploring... but starting off a game by exploring first is zzzzzzzzz.
