Could this be the reason why we have to hug walls, turn around every single meter, jump, paint a pentagram and pray to every known god - and to every unknown one as well (to make sure)?

I used to think there isn't much leeway in Cantha, but I since reached 100% almost 3 months ago, I've uncovered more than 40 spots. Not kidding at all, there is a ridiculous amount of leeway in Cantha.

That's exactly what they are going to do:

User Interface Changes
For the duration of the World Preview Event, the game will use certain elements of the Guild Wars Nightfall user interface.
* The new Skills and Attributes panel centralizes management of skills and attributes, both for player characters and Heroes. It replaces both the old Skill panel and the Attributes page from the Hero panel.
* The updated Inventory panel contains a character selector, so it can be used to manage equipped weapons and armor for both player characters and Heroes.
* The Compass includes new controls that allow the player to issue orders to both henchmen and Heroes.
All of these user interface changes are being presented in beta form. After the conclusion of the weekend event, they will be removed from the game again until the release of Guild Wars Nightfall.

omg thanks for sharing this trick. And actually it can still be done after the event is over. Just load up on a team of henchies and inch as far as you can to the door so the hench goes in as far as possible. Then hit recall and voila you're in. The interrupt henchman went in the furthest for me. Just got my title Screw jade quarry this method works way better. I think I got a good 0.6 out of eredon terrace if you explore everything back there. I made it so far up the mountain, it felt like I was playing morrowind or oblivion

I cannot do it today with either Return or Recall. Is there an additional trick to it, or did they fix it?

Only during the Nightfall preview, because we had the ability to use the flag to move henchmen, but now thats over we can't do this anymore. You'll have to wait until Oct 27 to do it.

No it can still be done. Just not as easily. The key is getting your henchmen far enough into the town portal past the zoning point and that's usually dependant on the formation your henchmen take when you exit a town. I've found they can take 2 initial formations. One, they will form a perfect circle around you. Two, most of them, especially the archers and casters will form up a certain distance from you and will try to maintain that distance and position relative to your position when you move. The trouble here is finding towns where when you exit, the henchmen will form up at a distance between you and the town portal. I've tried it with multiple exits of several towns and many of them the henchmen either form a circle around you or they form up at a distance, but not directly between you and the town portal.
So far I've only been able to successfully do it with 2 towns. Eredon Terrace and the east exit of Breaker Hollow. At both these exits, the henchmen formed up directly between me and the town exit.
The south exit of house zu heltzer I think might be possible as I can get eve and cynn to go way back up the stairs. But every time I teleport, I end up in town so I gave up after a few tries. Couple of other towns had this same condition too, but I gave up shortly because I got my title and got bored of trying to do it with other towns
I do kinda hope anet doesn't try to fix this... for cantha anyway. Unless they plan on opening up jade quarry for free exploration, I can't see how the average joe can possibly get grandmaster cantha cartographer without doing this trick.

You can also fight the guard outside, and then the merchant runs into town, then you can use almost any shadow step skill, like dark prison, to get in.
Or Heart Of Shadow your way past. It seems like I can't get the first one to work again after the first time.
Orrr you can just get 8 henchmen, and stand near the gate, and let them all kinda huddle around, garauntee some will be on the other side of the portal

For Eredon Terrace, here's what I did (AFTER the flagging for henchmen was removed)
I brought the 3 Ranger Henchmen and the 2 Monk henchmen, and exited into Maisheng Hills. I then cast Recall on Zho right away, BEFORE I forced the henchies past the portal. I then inched towards the right side of the portal, and as soon as I was as close as I could get, I canceled Recall, and it brought me into the zone. I've gotten it to work without zoning me about 40% of the time!

I tried it throughout Tyria during the preview, nothing of importance is accessible. All of the arena areas that you can no longer map are outside of the region loaded up by the explorable zone.

Is it still possible to get into The Monestary Overlook by going into the courtyard?
I tried but I could not get close enough.
