FREE .4% MAP EXPLORATION [req: "recall" or "return" + town Eredon Terrace]
EDIT: you can get into any gated areas in cantha, using this method. this is only 1 example.
other areas that give map boost:
1: saint anjeka's shrine, exclusive alliance area
2: monastery overlook [leave shing jea into any of those areas outside of the monastery, get inside monastery, run through gate into the overlook]
gl, hf, share the info before the event is over PLEASE.
Instructions:
Step 1: go to Eredon Terrace [north-east luxon town]
Step 2: add a henchie to your party
[henchie.jpg]
Step 3: zone out, and:- cast recall on your henchie
or
Step4: flag your henchie past the portal, into the town, and:- cancel recall
or
- use return on your henchie
Step5: walk through this gate
Step6: walk over to this hill area with a jade thingy
Step7: walk up this black rock
you could also just be a member of the alliance that controls eredon terrace and walk in while still in the town.
Make sure to go as far north, east, and south as you can.
ENJOY.
EDIT: You can also use this trick to get into the exclusive area in any town in Cantha. Saint Anjeka's Shrine gives ~.1% if you go into the exclusive area, there.

how can i order my hench in factions? I thought that was only in nightfall...
in other words
my compass does not have the flags when i play my "pre-nightfall world event" characters. only the characters i created in the free trial have that option.

Just a little note: Recall is much better because you can go the distance of the mini-map, whereas with Return, you can only shadow step casting range.

awesomeness =) glad it helped. please, let as many people as you can know before event is over~~ free exploration points ftw ^^.
phil collins eww. sry about images not showing up, imageshack is gimpy.
basically, put recall on a henchy outside of a town, use flag to send henchy into town, once he's a godo way past portal, cancel recall and explore.

I already got to 100% on my Tyrian ranger without these places, but I mapped the overlook anyway because not having it was bugging me.

That saved me so much time, rather than trying to find that last little bit that I swear I already had.

Yay for Juicey! /cheer
Thanks
Apparently where you can go is dependent on what explorable area you're in....example: I couldn't get to Monastery Overlook if I went to Sunqua Vally, but I could if I went to Linnok Courtyard. Same with the Kurzick town, I could only go into the exclusive area if I left for Ferndale.
edit: So is this this glitch that I've heard about? Still exploring it, too....and it results in yet another vertical line on the zoomed-out map heh
(I got 0.6% just from this town / glitch area! Who needs Jade Quarry )
I also tried the same method to get into the closed arenas in Tyria, but was unable to because the region was not loaded into the explorable areas I had access to Oh well....

yay everyone and their titles =). Remember, tell anyone that hasn't already done this! The overlook for tyrians is very nice for anyone who missed the dragon festival, and the eredon terrace area was previously only available to people in the owning alliance [and it took me weeks to get an invite for 5 minutes ><]
so tell everyone about this before event is over, please..
and yeah, linook courtyard is needed to get into monastery overlook** [I didn't bother trying with sunqua >_>]

That's awesome, but unfortunately I can't allow myself to do this, due to my explorer thread. If I get these areas and people see them later when I update my maps, they will want to know how I got them and will want to know how much can normally be explored once I tell them, and I won't be able to keep track of that.
That is unless they still have this when NF is officially released, then I'll definitely be using it, and I'll add the hows of it to my guide.
Good work.

I love this. Thank you a lot.
The problem about the explorer title in Cantha is that even if you visit every area and hug the walls like a maniac, chances are you will still be 2% short simply because you did not hug them hard enough.

errr too late me for since I gotten 100% for cantha a long time ago but I've would be interested for Tyria areas tho since there are areas there that are completely locked out for those who want to get those x.x% since arenas that require a certain level to enter but missed out or the arenas that no one can enter anymore since the Battle Isles made them obsolete to be there anymore.
It would a give an alternate portion of the map to explore to uncover those areas for Tyrian or Canthan natives.

You know after using this method a bit and getting quite some x.x out of it... i'm wondering if that is the reason the leeway for Cantha Explorer is that extreme as it is. Could it just be that there are several map bugs that should never have counted towards the title but still do? Could this be the reason why we have to hug walls, turn around every single meter, jump, paint a pentagram and pray to every known god - and to every unknown one as well (to make sure)?

Why would this change after the event? Surely they're not going to revert the flagging options?
