The Link between the Crystal Overlook and the Arid Sea
I remember someone posting a screenshot of the portals in the Arid Sea and the Crystal Overlook and people were speculating if it were a portal or not. Well, it is. Here are the screenshots to prove it - you have to be on a character that has been to the Crystal Desert or Ascended I think. It's a pretty cool quest and you get to run around the Desert with 8 people.
Just talk to the ghost named Shanrah in the Crystal Overlook:
From Elona:
From Tyria:

... can you say sweet? That looks uber-fun. I didn't much like the Arid Sea, but a total-crossover quest CAN'T be bad :-P

Honestly, all I pretty much use is Barrage and Lightbringer's Gaze. I used to JI but it's not worth the extra damage that you can make up easily unless it's against undead.
But yea... Blackout stops Call of Torment from being used which really helps when you're fighting a ton of them. Or when I want to spike down a cleric mob real quick. XD

Can we confirm what's necessary to use this teleporter? I found the guardian in the Crystal Overlook, and I have Prophecies, but he won't let me travel. Are we sure that I need to have seen the Arid Sea thru Tyria? Or just talk to Shanrah?

I have no problems talking to either guy in either place and he teleports me without a problem. This is on my Warrior who beat the game, perhaps beating the game enables the travel.

On an Elonian char, you need to have visited Amnoon Oasis/Augury Rock - my Paragon has gone both ways and done the quest now

I swore, I saw a cutscene or a trailer or something for NF, in which large statues in a desert were falling: I'm like, 2nd att pt quest statue!

It's a mirage :P
Also, by looking at the timeline, you can see that Nightfall plays 3 years after Prophecies
