You took the Master Level Quest.
Look through your Quest log for the Realm of Torment Quests - when you find the one that says "Master Level" or something in red text - abandon it. You can pick it up later. This way you wont get swarmed right at the beginning.

I would even go one step further and abandon all quests for the torment, except the quest I am on. Only having the quest you are on makes the realms in the torment much easier.

I did the same thing >.< Don't even take Master level quests until you have done the other ones...they just get in the way, and if you aren't prepared for them...it'll ruin whatever else you are doing...

The particular quest giving you trouble right inside Nightfallen Jahai is "Breaking the Broken," which is admittedly a little rough if you are not expecting it.
Honestly, though, this is the only one I would abandon as all the other quests do not interfere with the primary quests as drastically as this one - you won’t notice the difference.
I actually completed this quest with heroes and henchies when I first got the Realm of Torment, but it took three tries and I about had a seizure trying to monk it and hunt down duplicating enemies. Once I did complete it I felt a huge sense of relief when I realized the whole area might not be that bad....and then I felt like a moron for not realizing what was going on.

This is true. Abandon Breaking the Broken, then just run it, being careful of aggro circles etc. You will need to fight a couple of groups at the end but that is it.
Good luck :-)
