Immunity vs conditions = very little actual damage from traps. It's the degen from Burning, the Bleeding and the Blind that does the most damage really.

Riposte / Deadly Riposte isn't such a good idea because the block will trigger Demonic Miasma.
Other than that, it looks like a good selection to me.
For defense and healing, use only bonuses that cannot be removed or exploited, no enchantments or stances. No blocking/evading/dodging. Only bonuses that are plain "skills". Or chants/shouts. Or spirits. Or wells. Or wards.
As for offense, I've got no idea. Attacks and attack skills seem to be not very effective, or even detrimental. Similar for hexes and skills inflicting any conditions. Life stealing may work.
Disclaimer: I have never fought Mallyx myself, this is just theory and may be complete bogus.

I think you misunderstood. I think he doesn't teleport to his target, but the other way round.

I see.... so I was the reason why we got owned.
It looks like, bonding.... no, I take that back... using ANY enchantment is fatal.
Well, it looks like bonder is gonna have to cuddle in the corner and do /dance
No fire attunement, no geotank skills, no healer's boon...
DON'T USE ENCHANTS! Even 1 enchants can cost your entire team 8 skills....

Hey aohige could you tell his attack speed and is his damage armor negating i have been busy all week and havn't had time to try this part of the quest again since last weeks bug.

Silly line of thinking. From a previous post;

I'll trigger Demonic Miasma and take my 50 damage happily if it will prevent something of that magnitude. It's likely even a buff-reduced hit would still be 50+, so getting some damage back on him is clearly worth the skill.
Looks pretty cool from the pictures.

Spoil victor is a hex, as is life degen. Maybe a variation on an old fashioned HA style Op gaze bloodspike?
Blackout may be an option, it's not a hex. Do you get a message saying Target is immune to hexes, or does the hex go on then come right off. If so maybe WW,Fragility or phantom pain will be triggered?

Maybe Grenth's Balance can be useful in a build. If Chants/Shouts/Rit Spirits can keep the one-hit kills from happening, Grenths can immediately restore full health to the user. The problem then becomes deciding which party member(s) can take it on their skillbar in lieu of a more useful elite for prior foes. Maybe it can keep a tank alive long enough to allow others to focus on Mallyx.

Also remember any build has to be able to defeat the mob fest at the start. Does he run from Aoe, if he's slow then ye olde chaos storm, will drain health and energy with armor ignoring damage. Even if he does run then he cant attack so is shut down for a while. I've used that tactic nucely on seige turtles, titans and glint to nice effect.
I suspect shouts, signets and spirits will play a key role

We don't know in detail yet what causes the 500~600 health loss, do we? It may not be from an attack. If that's the case, it can't be blocked. Maybe it's not even damage, but life-stealing. That's what ANet did with Shiro, to make him tougher to beat, because life-stealing bypasses pretty much all defenses.

Hmm, maybe a touch skill? Much like vampiric touch? If that's the case, then would the para shout "can't touch this" have any effect? I'm not there yet, so I wouldn't know still have yet to find a good group for gloom/foundry/veil .

This guy is so overpowered it's ridiculous. Something this strong in any game usually makes me suspect there's a solution that is so obvious that everyone's missing it.
Could it be unpopular builds from long ago? I really don't see anyone winning a straight up fight with this thing. Hmmm...

From what I could tell, his attack speed and movement speed didn't seem that fast, actually.
The damage I took, as a standard 60AR caster, was a 200+323 dmg attack.
Probably some skill he used, but I only had chance to see the damage.
The 200 part was a precise number, so I'm willing to bet it's a armor-negating damage skill.

if most of his things are attack try using wail of doom? Blackout will work since it isnt a hex but you have to be in touch range of him and it seems like he would own you by the time you use it. Wail of doom seems ideal for this. If anyone could try this out or even better, give me a NF key and I'l help =P.

Recording of us getting their using a monk tank (please nerf)

Destroyed instantly of course, you have to use a balanced build.
The spirits control the room effects seems like the right answer, but don't know how to kill them. Direct damage did nothing, we are going to try vampiric next time we are there. The loss of bonds/blessed signet/et cetera is due to a skill that removes all enchantments from target foe and disables one skill from everyones skill bar for 6 seconds for every enchantment moves (it might work like mirror of disenchantment too...dunno). A ritualist would completely shut down the damage, but is a liability during the previous mobs.
He has another skill that acts like CoP. It removes all hexes and conditions, healing him for a large amount for each one. It has a short recharge and a cast time so it is interruptable...not sure what the cast time is, one of the things I have to check next time I fight him. I think the best bet is trying to interrupt this skill and then using a lot of anti melee shut down. My guess is a mesmer would destroy him. In the early Urgoz days, before the EoE bug, we would have a mesmer almost solo him.
Edit: Mallyx being a giant gorilla = awesome.
