depends on how much you play, can take up to 2 weeks or more.
and if this is the first Guild Wars you are buying, it might take longer as you get the money and materials to buy it.

It's really not that bad if you spend your time focusing on one character and trying to work them thru. I think when I focused on one char, it took about 30-40 hours of actual gametime to complete. (4 chars already done with nightfall).
The other thing you have to think about is what class you're trying to get thru, to add on time. For example, based on the newness of the Dervish, the attitudes of some towards the sin, it could add more time on getting into a group at a mission town. If it's a monk, that isn't a problem at all.

Me working, so only a few hours a night (and a weekend) did it in about 8 days.
Was doing other quests and capping the odd eliete on the way as well.
That wa with a existing char tho.
So if you work, probably 2 weeks if you go a reasonaby direct path.
(And the 8 days was not knowing anything about what to do - Did all the starter missions etc. )

I went from fresh off the boat to Protector of Elona in about 3 days. If you know what to do and don't care about doing all the missions and bonus, probably 3 days also since you're creating a dervish which needs to do the starter island missions and quests.

Took me about 52 hours to beat, doing some sidequests. I imagine it would take a lot less time now I know the tricks on how to do it and if I did not take so many detors. As for DoA, that is another story, it can take you upwards of a week of finding (before LFG system) a group capable of completing a single area for the Mallyx quest.

Got NF since start, still have not finished game yet.
Got the 15K sunspear (should take you a day when you have the cash and materials).
Did not finish the game yet because I progress 6 characters through Elona simultanious and got my Dervish Protector of Tyria first
I think you can finish in about a week when you can and do play all day.

I'm going to call BS here. If you used a tyrian or canthan character you would have had to farm for SP. that would have taken a few hours. Add in the travelling to places.
If you made a new char it would have taken you that long to get off the island.

@ramma77: If it took you longer then 1h to farm the needed SP you are doing something wrong.

okay let's just say they farmed the points needed in one hour. ASSUMING they knew exactly what to do despite the game only being out a matter of hours. then that's still 9 hours.
9 hours to get to every mission and do it first time. While possibly having low level heroes in the party when required.

Since you have not beaten it I would say 3-4 day at least if you play like 8 hours a day. But after the first time its just like a breeze walk, you can run through mobs for quests, skip stuff in mission, and if you know the right build you can complete a mission in like 10 minutes. I walked through vetem cemetary without a single fight once. NF is really, really easy because there are just mission you can run to the end to a cutscene and fight the last guy (like badock cavern)
-by run, i dont mean by your self, i mean with entire team of henchmen, who will die allong the way but you don't really care

To be Honest longer than I expected... It's in between Prophecies and Factions... but it spends the time a lot more useful than Prophecies.
I'd say the best Guild Wars yet.

I beat it in about..24 hours..around that. I mapped the first night it came out (most of the Kourna area) but when I woke up I advanced through it and beat it in about 21-22 hours. So it could have been a bit more considering I mapped. I also took a shower sometime in there and that was about 30 minutes.
I beat most missions with my warrior not knowing what to do in 1 try. Those that I didn't I got the second time. Most missions were only about 15-20 minutes, excluding Grand Court.

Well, it took the old gamer dude (60 next month ) about two weeks with my ranger, but that included doing some exploring, and getting hung up with PUGs for five days on the next to last mission -- this is about 3-4 hours an evening. Of course, you have to also consider the fact that I'm starting to misplace my car in the parking lot.
Seriously, Nightfall is too short, but it's a great game anyway. Going through it again with my monk, just taking my time and helping people out.
