Now THAT'S an idea! Only problem is, you have to be N/mo or Mo/N, but if you've got a helpful guildy that can switch his secondary that's ok.
Also, you'd have to disable all your hero monk's skills to stop him from healing them, and take no healer henchies. Ah well, nothing's perfect.
EDIT: Waitaminit, you could actually have Olias or the Master of Whispers do it! Nice. That way, you don't have to be N/Mo or Mo/N, but the thing about teh healer henchies still applies. Again, nothing's perfect.

I think theres another way. without N/Mo or Mo/N. Thats for you to be /N for the necrotic traversal, and equipping sunspear rebirth signet. Then you could at least have one of your heroes with a monk primary or secondary with rebirth.
Idea is you kill something outside and traversal to it. give the hero with monk skills a vampire weapon, when they die use rebirth signet. and then when the other heroes die with vampiric weapon, your first hero can rebirth them down.

the problem with this method which although was formly effective is anet changed the spawning patterns of the scarabs so they Very rarely spawn close enough to the walls of the fort for u to be able to attack them. Unless you want to attempt this muliple times until u finally get the spawn u need.
I know this from experience since i did it long ago with my characters scarabs spawned (except for for on 2 occasions). Then months later when i came to do it again for a friend, after more than 10 times, we didnt get a single spawn of the scarabs so from now on i resort to the norm method of simply fast killing everything and to be honest its not so hard especially if u reduce the number of melee chars and increase the number of Casters in your party particularly ones that ignore armour.

Never got this one with just henchies, but completed it with heros this weekend
45 mins on mission and bonus!
Me: P/R (Winter)
Heros: The two ele's and SS Olias
Henchies: The two monks, the two warriors.
Could've been faster but went too fast in the big open area initially, so I had to retreat and recover when I aggrod a tad too much :P

Some players that aren't very experienced never finished Prophecies because they couldn't do this mission with a PUG or with henchies. Heroes give them a crutch to support them, and finally get it done. Same is true for THK. I know plenty of people who said to me "hey I finally got past THK" and they only did it by bringing 4 monks.

i remeber the good old days of spending a week trying to defeat THK for teh 1st time with PUGs then attempting it with henchies and getting it with bonus 1st time now even seems like a walk in the park hell ive even completed it with just 6 of us in party (me, a guildie and 4 henchies) and that was without using any kinda of exploit etc. we simply outfought all the enemys

Completed Hells Precipice on my Ranger and Warrior over the weekend.. With heroes of course.
Heroes certainly helped me, but the one thing that made things a lot better, is the ability to flag henchies.
It makes pulling so much easier.
On the subject of Hells Precipice, whats the deal with the Lich.
When I completed HP with my Necro, we killed the lich off the bloodstone once, then when he revived we killed him on the bloodstone and the mission finished.
With my Ranger and Warrior, I had to kill him on the bloodstone three times before the mission finished.

I've had this problem. You have to kill the lich on the exact center of the bloodstone. If he is even a single step away from the center, he will be reborn, and you have to kill him all over again.
Very often he stops close to the center because some overeager warrior is too close to him or someone wands him. Just leave him completely alone while he walks back to the center and then unload on him.

Is it possible to do Hell's Precipice with normal henchmen only? Because I have only Prophecies and tried this mission with a PUG a few times but we failed miserably.

yeah it's rather easy. I wouldn't reccomend nuking though. With the titans you want to control which one's die so you are left with 4 hands and fists getting you.
This mission is an insult to the game. it's way too easy. 2 monks would have easily done. i understand you think this is some kind of achievement... but it's not.

Yep! Just watch out for the big group of imps that can aggro midway. The Titans and Rurik are easy, but the fire imp guys can be too much for henchy Monks to handle.

I agree this mission is easy however, it only feels that way from experience, if your havnt done it before it does feel difficult *thinks way way back to the early days*
And it is an acheivement since its the completion of the Phrophecies campaign and helps towards those nice protector titles (providing u got the bonus too)

Even the first time i did it. before i even knew what runes were and what a cap sig did i thiought it was too easy for a last mission. Where's all the different profs? There shoudl be gangs of monsters roaming around with monks and mesmers in them. Instead it's mostly melee and fire damage. OH NOES!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!

dont forget all the Necros (including the Lich) and the dif profession Bosses (exempt monk)
You can say everything in this game is easy if a: u know what ur doing, b: u have a plan or c: u have a good team. But some people are less experienced and so find some things more difficult that others find them. Besides if you want a greater challange theres always the titan missions to enjoy
