foundry brainstorming
ok, I have gotten to the second room of the foundry, finding this room:
[img=http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/6179/foundryqo5.jpg]
anyways, I havent been able to cross that room, due to the insanely small room, making it impossible to be able to hold aggro, since it has a random location spawn.
any ideas how to overcome 3 monstersized terrorweb dryders as long as melee margonites in a room a little bigger than aggro circle?

Currently in Foundry waiting to be rezed (lots of deaths), we've made it past the first quest, almost cleared the main room before starting the second quest. Our build works really well (at least it did before our bonder err7'd), the key to clearing the first quest is to have a Monk with rebirth and Necrotic traversal. To use this you need a E/R with a pet. Before sending everyone into the room (and thus triggering the spawn), have the ele walk around with the pet so it dies outside the gate. Once thats over, everyone inside and if the tank loses agro, have the Monk traverse outside the gate and run away. Rebirth everyone but the tank, and have someone with res chant rez him inside the gate. I'd post the full build but its not mine to post. Good luck, hopefully someone will find something that works better (our group has been in for 5.5 hours so far, candy canes help).

That's really creative. Unfortunately, I'm sure a lot of people are going to say that's a "cookie cutter build" because it 'forces' builds on people >.>
Hope you guys beat it^^

DO NOT take the second quest until you clear the ENTIRE area. You know how in FoW when a critical guy dies, "Your party was defeated" appears? Yeah well Anet decided it would be funny to waste an additional 3 hours of our time by not doing that in this quest (said quest failed return to outpost to retry). We failed the second quest because we took it too early (swarmed by 12 dervishes and raped the NPC we had to protect), but we thought we might be able to get to the end boss without doing the quest. Nope, cleared the whole area only to find a locked gate at the end with no way of opening. 8.5 hours spent on a quest, only to fail, fk that.

yeah i was doin it last night. i love how the NPCs have the worst AI imaginable and are constantly trying to get themselves killed. Good thing my group had excellent monks.
Only problem left now is that this place is so boring i want to kill myself every time i play it. GG Anet.

Etrik, thankyou.
Since this is brainstormin thread, i will ask you this
what do you think about having a staff in hand, gailgord preferably..
and this:
Vow of Silence ( if i am not wrong, an elite which recharges faster than it lasts, specially with 20% enchantment mod on staff
Armour of earth
Glyph of concentration
Stoneflesh Aura
Ward against Meele
probably kinetic armour, and some spell to recast kinetic.. like aura of restoration
Earth Attunement
You don't need any point in energy storage since its ele primary
but aura is there to recharge your kinetic, fast to cast.
If you need mana, use scythe with zelous mod, and no dmg, just hit all foes on you and it is enough energy to be maintained.
Tanking won't be an issue for you after that.
a Bipper can always Bip you. I know cause i have gone through a build relatively close to what i mentioned.
Vow of Silence is a Must.

It won't work
Vow of Silence is the ultimate double-edged blade. You can't be the target of spells refers to both friendly and enemy spells. So no heals/buffs while you have VoS on. And, you can't cast VoS while you have VoS on. You have to wait for it to expire and 1s is prone to interrupts.
I don't think you can cast wards during VoS and you can't maintain Kinetic, because you can't recast AoR for 10/11 seconds. *sniff*

I have never been to DoA, so I have no idea if this will work, but I'll say it anyway.
2 A/Me Shadow Form Tanks
With Shadow form, Deadly Paradox, Arcane Echo, and Arcane Mimicary, you can have Shadow Form on 100% of the time.
The rest of the team can be nukers.

Or just use Weapon of Quickening + QZ + Echo and you only need one? I'm not even sure you need WoQ.
Here are the calcuations:
It normally lasts 21 @ 16 shadow arts. With a 20% Enchating mod it lasts 25 seconds. With QZ it recharges in 30 seconds. So with Arcane Echo it can be kept up indefinately. I don't think you need QZ either. Deadly Paradox should do too, with echo.
Sins pwn

I know, but the build i mentioned, you shouldn't be taking dmg at all
Bonds on you along with the enchantments i mentioned, there is really no need to cast any spell on dervish, the only problem i see is energy. Unless your having a monk to use balthzar's spirit on ur self.
I know atleast i never took any dmg with that build on ele. it was constant 0
Until my Ob flesh would run out and give away a window of 4 seconds cast time from the foes.

i would think that serpents+ qz on a ranger and deadly+ Shadow form on a sin woud be enough to hold down the fort.
paradox=30 sec recharge on shadow +qz= 15 sec?
duration=21+ ench mod... should be enough.
i think id rather a sin over the OF tanks. hell with a shadow sin you could almost rule out the sb monk entirely
