Hmmm. I did get a perfect Cyclopian wand from the Methandi chest, req 9 Death, max with a 20% Memory wrapping. I salvaged all the mods off it and didnt lose the wand.

Too bad I don't like the 'petrified sperm' skin, cause it's just sitting in storage.

Yea today I re-did a chest in Torment and got a r9 Bleached Skull with 30HP and +10al vs Blunt. I don't need a offhand anymore.

and lol @ petrified sperm. It's cold damage too, so laugh at that alot.

Man this rox. i just made another 100k in cash from chests, but the only thing good i pulled were req 9 soul spire, req 9 wooden boar scepter, and req 9 diamond aegis. is it me or does anybody notice that wooden boar scepter are only dropping from these treasure chest?

Yea down in Kourna in either Jahai Bluffs or Dejarin Estate all I ever got was the Boar Scepters.

In the Hidden City of Adahsim I only got Diamonds/Sapphires.

In Torment in Desolation all I got were low-req rare skinned shields.

And any offhand I got had 27hp.

Got a nice 15>50 sundering 20/20 req 9 Shadow Axe from one of the reset torment chests

Perhaps they are going to refill these each month. Or it could be just a bug with them tampering with the HoH chest.

I think Anet plans to refill this every month. A one-shot use per toon seems like somthing for an event, and there are multiple weapons/items you can only get from said chests (Adamantine Falchion).

Got 2 scythes and 2 staves from chests/do not touch treasures. These were in Vabbi and one in Desolation. PCing them currently.

I also noticed that the treasure chests are accompanied by a normal locked chest which gave me golds 2/3 times.

Edit: What do you mean by resetting the chests? Does it mean the same character can then get the treasure from the chests again?

im new to nightfall and i found a chest in methani keys and it gave me a high req and not max gold avian axe

It would be interesting if it is more than a coincidence. It would definately take a bite out of the Elonian arms/items market, drop the price on gems and people trying to sell gold items for wisdom titles. It would give a definate boost to new players, or those short on cash and items, and help eveyone trying to outfit all their heroes...if they could keep track of everything. I almost need to create a spreadsheet or a database to figure out what I have and what my heroes are using.

^ If you did the runs before with a character, they have since been reset. It remains to be seen if it was an accident, or not. Personally I think it has to do with the tweaking they did over the weekend, and it will continue as a one shot sort of deal.

Two trips through 12 chests with ten characters = 240 free chests. Average gold take (with merchant sales for crap items) is 25K per char per trip = 500K. 240 gold items or an occasional gem. High req items can be easily used on heroes, who should have the attribute points to use them. Many nice mods (several dozen max) salvaged to make a handful of low req perfect items.

Best strategy for getting chests fast:

First, learn where they all are:

Then cap Shadow Form on all your chars. Put 12 points in Shadow Arts, and use a +20% enchant, high energy staff. Equip Shadow Form, Recall, Feigned Neutrality, Deadly Paradox, Dash, Dark Escape on your char and on three heroes. Add Sprint, Signet of Stamina on your two War heroes (Set their posture to "Avoid Combat", so they don't attack anything). Put recall on a War, have him use Shadow Form and Sprint past a mob, then recall to him. Right before you recall (or after as situation warrants), use Shadow Form on yourself and keep running. The rest of the party will mostly live as they run through the mob, or have your other heroes recall also. Find a safe spot to regen and rez key party members as necessary, or leave a trail of dead ones and keep running if you can. You are the only one who needs to survive as you repeat this sequence all the way to the treasure. Average time to reach 12 chests for one char is ~45 mins - 60 mins. The whole idea is to completely avoid combat and RUN and RECALL all the way. Use rez shrines to advantage, or if alone after you get past the mobs in the Ruptured Heart (frequently the case), rezone to the Shattered Ravine and back to rez party for an easy run to a Wurm Spoor. In Wurms, just run and speed tunnel past foes til close to the treasure, then send the whole party to take aggro while you speed tunnel to the treasure.
