Nearly everything I've gotten so far has been 1% off max (19% Axe +1, 14^50, etc.) BUT otherwise, they've been really nice. In fact, I got a perfect gladius, req 9, +15/stance with an armor bonus (I think) and a conditional bonus, too

.

And there was a max req 9 str Shield of the Lion down in the Issnur Isles for me, so Istan does have max goodies.

My favorite, my absolute favorite, was - a DIAMOND. It's the first gemstone ever for me in all three chapters.

Since these aren't your usual locked chests and seem more like the lost strongboxes of old, are they safe to open with a full party, heros, or henchmen? Will the loot be split between everyone there, or do drops go only to the person who opened the chest?

No, party members of any type do not matter. You will still get a random amount of gold and a gold item.

I made a party with a friend to get one of these chests. I opened it first and got 1k and a gold staff, then he opened it and got only 1.5k. He didnt get a gold, so i believe it might effect drops if more than 1 person uses it. Unless there is a slight chance of not getting a gold by default?

there is atleast a small chance of something not being given from the new chests. I've opened about 20 (over 3 chars) and one of them (the one in mirror of lyss) didn't give anything for my warrior. Though i still got 2 plat, so I'm not complaining. Thx anet

Have you guys noticed that the caster items that drop tend to be with the requirement of their primary attribute? I've gotten many items with req for either soul reaping, energy storage or spawning power. Also, loads of shields and lots of bows too - less everything else.

I've gone through the locations with my 3 characters who've gone through the game now and can't really complain - nice amount of gems, some nice items for me and my heroes, storage full of nice inscriptions and good amount of money on top of that. Really nice Wintersday surprise from A-Net.

Treasure Chests , Buried Treasure , and Do Not Touch (gay cuz pop ups) all give money and a gold.

. And only the one gem. Unburied enough gold to buy the last piece of 10K (and materials) and replace double the gold, all with one character. Cannot find the treasure in Nightfallen Jahai and have scoured the bloody map several times! Anybody able to tell me exactly where it's supposed to be? Went by wiki and the map there but never even saw the boss it's supposed to be near.

So it seems to me that there are 2 possibilities here. The first is that there are 12 chests total, 3 for each area. So far we have 3 chest in Kourna (Bluff, A Ward, Crevice), 3 in Vabbi (Mirror, Forum, Dasha) 3 in Rot (NF Jahai, Pain, Fear) and 2 in Istan (Key & Isles) and the desolation (Heart & Wastes). This would mean that there are 2 chests in these last 2 areas still to be found.

The other possibility is that there are simply 10 chests total (a nice round number) and the Desolation and Istan only have 2 each because they are smaller in size. In which case all the chests have been found.

Where did you get the 10 from? You named 13 there.

Let's hope they'll be there forever! I got perfect jeweled daggers, a perfect ancient scythe, 3 golds to give to heroes, about 4 superior runes, and about 15k or so from monster loot and treasures
