Is it true that if you ascend in either Elona or Cantha before ascending in Tyria, then beat your doppelganger in Tyria, you will NOT get the 50k XP bonus? Read it on Gwiki.

If you read it on wiki, the it's almost certain it's true although there is still a remote possibility of this being false. I didn't seem to get the 50K xp after killing it with my nf war too.

nope when i did it with my prop chacter i remember getting a lot of experience. when i went with my NF i didn't get it

My Dervish got the 50k when I did it... strange...
He had already beaten Nightfall and Factions.

My Dervish did not get it - I think I ascended about the time I hit the RoT and I had not done any quests in Cantha yet. Nor did my necro get the 50k - she did it well after getting Closer to the Stars.

All the others recieved it that have ascended. The rest are all Canthan or Tyrian and have not received Closer to the Stars - only my Dervish and my necro have (I hate Viszunah Square and none of my other characters ever bothered with the mission, just used the new skills).

As far as I can tell a foreign character can *not* ascend in Elona. At the least the profession changer told my Canthan Ranger was not allowed to change professions until he ascended (and he got the 50k exp) or became Closer to the Stars and he was in Vabbi by the time I did it. I have not taken an Elonan through Tyria before getting the Sunspear Sanctuary complete (and most likely never will).

Since they are different acts I wouldn't change the rewards, but apparently Anet feels otherwise. Not a big deal, though I wouldn't mind having that extra 50k exp. I do, however, find it amusing that I can do the profession changer quests in the Crystal Desert even though my Dervish had beaten all three chapters (I just noticed the exclamation point today) yet can not get the extra 50k exp for ascending. I would understand the profession change quests dropped, I also understand not giving rewards for "noob" quests (even if I do not agree with it) - yet the dopple is a level 20 mission and should give *full* rewards.

Ah well, only a game and still one of the best out there.

I'm pretty sure I got the 50k on my canthan ranger... not sure if he was laready ascended at the time tho...
