Smite Hex
Disciplined Stance
NOTE* Now whenever I join a group, i take ou smite hex and add rebirth. It works just as effectivly but you have to be more on the edge.
Attributes:
Equipment:
Well, the weapon should give you an energy boost. You can get one outside of Nolinia Acadamy. Well this is what I use.
Ranger Running Build:
As R/Mo
mathijn build:
1. escape
2. dodge
3. stormchaser
4. whirling defense
5. dryders defense
6. heal area
7. healing breeze
8. rebirth
attribute lvls:
expertise: 16
wilderniss survival: 6-7
healing: 11-12
Thanks mathijn. I dont have a ranger myself so i thought that from the top of my mind.
~~~~~
Instead of me explaining every part, ill show the route of the path.
Legend:
The narrow blue line indicates the path you take.
The narrow yellow path is the tricky parts.
The red stars indicates the resting points.
The red line indicates the parts that is unpredicatable. You can die here.
The see through green line is the path you take when you finish the run.
Part 1.The first yellow part, You first have to go past 1 Mesmer and 2 Elementalist. There no threat, Just sprint past them, and heal a bit. After that can be a real pain with the energy denial, slowing down ect. So if you want to go the safe way, you can wait fro the group to there original formation, and you can sneak on the right of them. Sure this can take a while, but its your saftest bet.
Part 2.This part can be tricky because of the 3 intersecting aggros. And sometimes, theres traps from the burial rangers. Best, safest bet is to wait for the aggros to brake up.OR you can run right through the aggro, first cast sprint, then when you get slowed down, use smite hex. From that point you use charge and disaplin stance, then when you have enough energy use endure pain.
Part 3. This part can be the hardest part, or the easiest part, I depends on the spawn and timing. Theres going to be 3 aggros before you see miko the ghost. the first aggro is something like 2 storm riders, and 1 hydra, No threat, just continue running, not using sprint. When you aggro a group of 3 skales, use sprint, by now you should have massive degen. but continue. There is a large aggro just forward of the skales.Because the skales are followining you, there is noo time to wait for them to leave if there there.
Part 3-A. If you aggro the large group, wait untill the skales and hydras attack you, when there about to attack you use charge and disapline stance. Run forward past Miko, then there should be a huge aggro of abasals, run past them. By now, you should have Endure Pain on you. Run into a place like a cave, with molted lava on the botum. You finished in my opinion, the hardest part of the run.
Part 3-B. If you dont aggro the lage group, just use charge and heal up at Miko. Wait for all the abasals to clear up, because they will trap you if you try going. So you let the abbasals attack the skales and hydras, let them fight. Once there allmost done fighting, run past them and into the cave.
Part 5. This part aint a big threat if you play your cards right.There Is many aggros and alot of pop-up nightmares. This part you just plainly run right to the ranger guy, and heal up. You shouldnt use disaplin stance here.
Part 4. Ahh the spiders. PAIN IN THE ASS.Well running from the ranger, do not use sprint, lure as much shadow armys as u can into the cave. Apon entering the cave theres going to be a few spiders poping up from the celling. Now you use charge and disaplin stance. Run into the second wall as shown below. Take a look at the compass, all you hace to do is touch the wall, and all of the spiders attacks will be missed. After all your health is replenished, use charge and disaplin stance, run all the way down spamming shields up, disaplin stance ect. Towds the end a bunch of spiders , just sprint past them and you finished the run.
Also, any spider farmers here can just join a chest run group and spider farm. I normally do this instead of spending 1k for entrance, also the drops are multiplied by each member, so alot more drops. If something good drops its not reserved for you, wait a bit. The peson definatly wont be able to go back back himself. 8 members, 5x drop ate and chances of shards ect.. Whic can be located here- http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77852
HAPPY Chest Farming!
Cool i do this a lot with my ranger i just use:
R/Me
----------------------
Escape {E}
Dodge
Storm Chaser
Whirling Defense
Troll Unguent
Distortion
Rezerection Signet
Your build is safer and taking distortion is kinda useless yes i know but i out run most warroirs and basicly always get all the chests and of course laugh at the warroirs at the end when i have got all the chests and they are left dead
EDIT: @Turin i think we can all guess that he means Endure pain.
Hex Breaker
Endure Pain
Inspired Hex
Healing Sig
*Balanced Stance
*Rez Sig
I still prefer this over any other build, although it was infintely better when Hex Breaker was spamable.
Yes, it is much easier to make the run, usually for free sometimes, and i all so let the teammates open chest first, to see if its gold ones or purples.
* people, that means u can use the chest 8 times.
The point of a chest run group is to have everyone in the group have the running skills neccasary to run. Then you run in a group. No one specificaly runs u to the chest. You all go together.
I always wondered if this run is profitable or not. I've tried many times, and there is nothing like seeing the person open a chest before you and getting a req 8 chaos axe, then you open it and get a req 13 jeweled chakram... so far... I only do this if I wanna waste some money. Cus out of 10 runs, there was absolutely nothing good. I got a bunch of jeweled chakram and jeweled chalices, and of course, earth wand and water wand. The best thing I got was a req 11 shadowbow, which I sold unIDed for 4k
You can buy the keys from the merchant In Temple Of Ages.
You can go into FoW by first getting acended in the Desert. After that you have to goto Temple Of Ages while america has favor of the gods. Kneel down the the statue of Balthazar, then his spirits shall show. Offer your services (pay him 1 plat) and he will take you to FoW.
I also use to do chest run's solo with my monk, it is slow and you can't get people to open the chest first Even if it is purple i always open it as FoW chests drop crystallines.
Healing Breeze is not very helpful here... here is my own build I almost never die and can make it thru cave full of poisonous spiders alone most of the time
Charge, Heal Sig, Endure Pain, Sprint, Purge Condition (for trapped areas), Smite Hex, Holy Veil, Rebirth.
13 Strength, 14 Tactics
