High End Elonian Armor Gallery!
Attention: I need screenshots to be around 259 pixels (wide) x 600 pixels (tall) exactly.
For the different views of the armor, you should make them separate pictures, and make sure a space is between them all so it doesn't warp the thread. I only post the front view in the main gallery and link to the other views.
The Guild Wars Guru Guidelines state that screenshots on this board can be no larger than 640 x 984 pixels. If they are, your pics will be DELETED courtesy of Savio!
And the following link shows what each submission should look like:
LINK
If you hit the quote button you can see how the links are laid out.
************************************************** ***
I would like to gather screenshots of all the Elonian armors into a couple of databases.
I want the main gallery to display the armors in their original undyed grey color. However, I will also be linking to colored versions of the armor as well. So if you have colored armor, I would still like it posted, but if you can take screenshots of the grey before you dye them, I would prefer that.
Screenshots that are currently in the first 3 posts of the thread that are colored, will be replaced by any new screenshots that are grey. As I said before though I will be linking to the colored ones still, but not until the gallery is in full working order.
For the time being I am gathering them all here, so there isn't too many threads that I have to manage at once. Once I have the pics I need, I will break them down into separate threads as needed, and continue to use this one to link to additional views or colors.
To start off with, I am focusing on the 15k Elite Sunspear Armor. This is the first high end armor available in Nightfall and thus there should be more people who have this, and can thus post their shots of it.
I am also focusing on the Primeval (Endgame) armors and the Dervish and Paragon Fissure of Woe (FOW) armors, as these are the highest attainable, and thus usually the most sought after.
The Vabian and Ancient armors will also be included here, but for now I am only linking to them from the OPs (Opening Posts).
I will also gather the other armors available, but I do not want them posted on this thread. Instead, send them to me in a private message on this board (or at gwgarmor.com.au), and I will post them later. I've yet to receive any of these, so if you have any of the low end armor in the original grey, please send them to me. Just make sure that they are a full set with head gear, and that they follow the same guidlines here as the others should.
************************************************** ***
The best and easiest way to post your pics is to simply send me your full, absolutely unchanged screenshots to [email protected]. These are the ones that are saved to your "Screens" folder in your Guild Wars folder. I will resize them perfectly and either send them back to you so you can post them here yourself, or I will post them here. The choice is yours. Simply tell me which option you prefer in your e-mail. I also prefer this option as I can size them exactly how I want them, and will have back ups of the original pics in case something happens to them or the server they are on. You should still following the guidlines below on how and where to take the screenshots. Unchanged also means no converting them to jpeg. They must in their original bitmap format. I can not resize them properly if they are jpegs. As such, you will probably need to send 1-2 images in seperate e-mails. Or you could host them at http://www.filefront.com/
If you must post them yourself please post your screenshots here and make sure they fulfil the following guidelines exactly:
1) All screenshots need to be taken from the log in menu where you select which character you are playing. Make sure to hold down Shift as you hit Print Screen to capture the image. This will get rid of the UI. Note: This also works for in game screenshots. The best way to get the perfect zoom is to zoom in as far as you can with your middle mouse button (this will make your character appear larger), then zoom out one click. Zooming in all the way cuts off the toes a bit, so one click out should show everything.
2) Make sure you have the headgear for the armor you are displaying shown as well. If you are having trouble with this aspect, the best way to get it to show is to log in to the game and select the "always show" option in your inventory under helm status. If you already have that option selected, change it to something else and then change it back to always show, sometimes this will jog it. Next, select "log out" from the menu screen and then log back in, without closing the game. This should take you directly back to the character you logged out of and the headgear should be displayed.
3) Make sure that your character is facing forward at an angle that gives the fullest view of the armor, and that you do not cut off the head or the feet. If the armor has a unique feature that is only on one side (like the black moa feather on the Necro Sunspear armor), make sure to include this in the view.
4) Please include a front, straight on view (This means that you don't seem to be looking at it from above or below), right side, left side, and back view of your armor. I will only be posting the front views in the OPs, but will link to the other views.
5) Make sure the screenshot that you are posting is in .jpg format. Screenshots are taken in .bmp format by default. If you do not know how to do this, then send them to me in a private message here on the board (or at [email protected]), and I will convert them for you.
6) Do not post pictures of other player's armors. I only want screenshots of your own armor.
7) All screenshots should be 600 pixels high exactly, and around 223 to 270 (for wider armors) pixels wide. You will want to crop the pics so that there isn't much background on the sides. Use the ones currently in the gallery as examples.
For a mini-guide on how to resize your pics please read the bottom of this post!!!
Please include the following information, in this format:
Armor Type: Male/Female - Elite Sunspear Armor (15K) or Primeval (Endgame) or Fissure of Woe (FOW)
(Screenshots)
Materials:
Chest: 150 (material) - 5 (material) - 15k
Legs: 100 (material) - 10 (material) - 15k
Head: 50 (material) - 5 (material) - 15k
Hands: 50 (material) - 5 (material) - 15k
Feet: 50 (material) - 5 (material) - 15k
Dye: (Color)
Please type out the materials including a "-" between them as shown above. I have no need of screenshots of the material requirements. This will make it easier for me to copy and paste the info into the OP, so I will have time to update the thread more often. Of course if an item number varies from above, change the number.
I am currently looking for armor that is undyed for the OPs, but will use colored armor until I have a good screenshot of the same armor undyed. I will also link to the different colored armors that are posted in this thread, so I do indeed need screenshots of all the different one-color variations.
If you reply to a post with pics in it, leave the pics out of your quote so it doesn't bog down the thread and chew up bandwidth. Thumbnails are fine to include, as they aren't very big, but not full pics.
The Following are links to the Ancient and Vabian versions (A full gallery will be constructed once the 15K gallery is complete):
Ancient Armor
Warrior: Male - Female
Ranger: Male - Female
Elementalist: Male - Female
Mesmer: Male - Female
Monk: Male - Female
Necromancer: Male - Female
Dervish: Male - Female
Paragon: Male - Female
Assassin: Male - Female
Ritualist: Male - Female
Vabbian Armor:

Mesmer: Male - Female
Monk: Male - Female
Necromancer: Male - Female
Dervish: Male - Female
Paragon: Male - Female

Screenshot Resizing Mini-Guide
Ok, so you want to post your armor here but you are not sure how to size them. Once again the best and preferred way is to send them to me at [email protected]
If you have to do them yourself, here is how:
Follow the guidelines above on where and how to take your screenshots. They will automatically be saved into your "Screens" folder in your GWG folder.
You will need an image program other than Microsoft Paint. If you only have Microsoft Paint, send them to me, as MPs compression ratio is very bad, so your screenshots will not come out with good quality. You should use something like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, or Ulead Photo Impact.
The screenshots that are saved into your folder will be in bitmap format (.bmp), this is the file type. You will notice that each one is around 5 mb in size, which is very large for a picture file. However, it also offers the best quality.
First you will need to crop the picture so that it only shows your character. Use your tools to create a box around your character that is as close as possible to the outlines around the screenshots in the armor galleries below in post two and three of this thread. Then crop the picture. This will leave you with everything inside the box and cut out all the extra background space.
Now look in your menu for the option to resize the picture. There should be something that lists the current size of the picture in its original dimensions. If the picture just happens to be 600 pixels high, then it's perfect. If not you will need to enter 600 in the height options. Make sure it says pixels and not percent. Also make sure that you have Aspect Ration as locked. That way when you select 600 pixels for its height it will automatically adjust the width so it doesn't warp the picture. When you have 600 pixels selected as the new height, click ok or whatever you need to do to go ahead with the resize. Next, go back to the resize screen. It should now say 600 pixels high under original dimensions.
Next you will want to convert the file to a jpeg (.jpg). This will condense the file so it will be a smaller size. This is very important for posting pictures on websites, as every time that picture is viewed it has to download it to your computer, thus an entire gallery of bitmap pictures would not only be a whole lot to download, it would chew up an insane amount of bandwidth from the servers that the picture is hosted on.
To convert the file to .jpg, simply go to your menu and click "save as." It should then come up with a file name slot, so you can name/rename the file, and under that should list the file type. Under file type, select "JPG JPEG" and click save. This will save the file as a jpeg.
The most important point in this process it to make sure that you crop and resize the picture while it is still a bitmap (.bmp) file and then convert it to jpeg. If you try to resize the picture in it's jpeg format, it will warp the picture and it will be useless.
Like I said before, the best and easiest way is to simply send it to me at [email protected]
Thank you

Thank you very much to those who have posted their pics so far, their awesome.
To NuclearGoat and Reaper, if you can replace the screenshots blanked by the frog with the thumbnailed versions I will upload them to my own server and host them myself.
This is another reason why I ask that people do not include the pictures in their posts when quoting a post containing pictures. Not only does it add more pictures to download for slower connections which kills their loading speed, it also increases the bandwidth used by that image, which in turn can get it shut down as has happened here.
Thank you guys and keep them coming. ^_^
