Joko's Domain in Hard Mode
Has anyone done this, and did they find it easy?
Right now I'm at 400 killed and I have two groups left which i can't kill,
The group I have been tryign has two Awakened Monks, 3 Awakened Dervish, 3 Awakened Mesmer, 1 awakened Elementalist and 1 Awakened elemental boss,
So far I lured the boss away and killed him and somehow one of the dervish however my team keeps on dying trying to kill the rest. every time i try to kill one acolyte i either fall just short or just manage it but then get killed off by the rest of the awakened before managing to kill the second, I have used a mesmer stealing skills on one of the monks and tried to get the other with curses necro, ranger with broad head arrow and interupts, myself as slowing down caster, and the two melle hench and monk hench. I seem to be able to manage the other groups but this one is impossible to lure near wurms and I can't seem to cope with the number of Awakened in this group
I'd quit but I have just done 4 hours at it lol

I remember something lke 500+ enemies in that area...
I ran savannah heat + tenai's heat + deep freeze, which pretty much cooked every group before they could start ripping us to pieces. The AoE makes them run around like idiots too, which is nice.
I had tahlkora as a hybrid prot monk with life sheath of all things, Jin as barrage/interrupt and koss running cripslash.
Dom henchman, mhenlo, devona, and the ranger or something in the fourth slot.

Yeah, definitely use Broad Head, it'll carve up those annoying Acolytes.

just find someone with the primary quest active... that ele boss group is extremely annoying, and doesnt spawn if the quest is active because there's the general guy there

I think I remember that fight. Its a Paragon boss with Signet of Return right? With 2 Acolytes next to him. Have you tried bringing Frozen Soil.

No I got those ones easy enough just sent Norgu up to them and lured to my wurms, but the Frozen Soil Idea is good, next time I try this one I will go for that

No tried that many times, for some reason they get just within reach and run away again, maybe it the updated AI for hard mode but I find it annoying that they sem to be able to be lured 3 times the distance in the opposite direction to where my wurms are

I know I had difficulty with I think Arneh the Vigorous or whatever his name is. Obsidian Flesh, Vow of Silence made my casters useless pretty much. I think it is the Cavaliers that use Obsidian Flesh and there were two of them, three Vow of Silence dervs, Arneh and a couple of Acolytes. Stupid. Just love wanding things till they die. Very effective.

Smiting does huge damage to awakened. Combine that with high lightbringer and you will rip through them.
template code:
OwUTMYHDnRCYSeAoE+B8ILKTAA
that build has been a really fun smite build for me throughout the three games. Signets go straight through vow of silence.

Lightbringer doesn't affect awakened lol...
Frozen Soil works well. throw it down and kill the monks then kill as much as you can. even if you get wiped the frozen soil will stop any monks still alive or cavaliers from resing, provided frozen soil doesn't get killed.

Bear in mind if you take frozen soil you may want to take a spirit destroying skill in case of an emergency and you need to res your own team. Just something like consume soul or gaze of fury...and have it disabled on a hero so it can't be used as soon as the spirit goes up.

Has anyone got a specific team build for this as I have been trying for 3 days unsuccessfully to do this. The acolytes etc, just pawn me. I have tried the suggestions above but to no avail.
Would be nice for someone to list each character and the skils used etc. And I am sure this would greatly help others as well.

Thanks for the tips. Finally beat this zone today on my Paragon.
I got though on tactics as much as build. Especially with the Ele boss group, where I took out the rezzers before getting wiped - then hopped in wurms to work off DP. Then came back, etc. Saving the big mobs out in the haze for working off DP works pretty well.
Avatar of Balthazar is a nice skill out there, too.

EDIT: Above was full of useless stuff so i removed it..Well, i was frustrated about getting shrine camped to 60% dp, that says it all .
I just beat this area, take that awakens. Well that was after 4 hours. Thought i'd list the monk skills i had: Shield of Judgement, Retribution, Holy Wrath (from me), Life Bond, Judge's Insight and BHA Ranger with epidemic.
Body blocked the melee with the help of the surroundings, ganked the Acolyte when he rushed to resurrect, thats the weakness of it - must touch the ally to resurrect. Didnt use Frozen Soil against the cavaliers, ranger dealt with them alone. I did get lucky with the paragon boss because i was able to pull them to wurms this time without dying, other tries i got owned by a chain of knockdowns etc.
I pulled the whole Shekoss's gang to other side of the the nearby mountain. They got body blocked nicely and we took them all down without anyone dying, although, the boss did get some nasty critical hits few times (dont do him with DP). Also the BIG group (12 at least) near the eastern shrine, at first they wiped us (first complete wipe) but then i used the terrain near the shrine to my advantage, same way as with Shekoss. Now that it's done, i enjoyed it - nice fights overrall.

The bosses in the zone were quite easy... (seriously who the f*ck leaves the BOSSES till last when they might not be able to kill them!? You deserve to fail if your that dim.). The Para Boss can be lured easily to the wurms, coupled with Frozen Soil and his mob dies so fast its amusing. The Ele boss is a pita, but nothing extreme. He spawns quite nicely next to a corner, so just block him on that and kill him from there, we were using a smite hero with SoJ, gotta love watching the Dune Carvers own themselves for 100 damage a hit, can usually get the odd spell off through VoS too if it goes down when they're on their arse.
As for the rest of the area... why in gods name do the wurm bits first, overlures and dp is so likely it just makes things harder for the unwurmable bosses.
