Personally, i'd also go along with the beastmastery suggestions. Only, make sure one of your skills is whirling and the other is otyughs. Whirling = he will miss you most of the time and Otyughs (since they revamped it) means your pet will hit him all the time. Then just fill up with nice pet attack nastyness. I beat him in HM this way and got the bonus.
