Henching Arborstone: Finale
I'm trying to hench Arborstone, plain and simple. I have no trouble whatsoever reaching the atrium (room with the final boss and stone guardians). All three paths are a walk in the park.
But here's my problem:
I can NEVER kill the boss and the guardians! I don't know why, but all the henchies just seem to drop dead rather quickly in the battle. I've been told to pull some of the guardians before they join the boss's group, but that's pretty hard, as they won't travel too far (and I don't want to risk simply fighting them at their position because a henchie is quite likely to aggro the main group).
I do have Nightfall, do you think I should grab some heroes to help with this?
Help would be appreciated.

Well heroes are almost always preferable to henchmen, try some heroes in place of the worst functioning henchies.

Even in PuGs (and not your stupid PuG, the rare ones that seem to know what they're doing), we always get totally destroyed by the Stone Guardians.
I've attempted Arborstone like 11 times! Any suggestions?

If I remember right, the stone guardians just have really heavy armour. Like you'd expect from a giant rock thing. Just take stuff that's either armour ignoring or you'll just have to go heavy damage. Easiest is with as many melee heroes/henchmen you can get. Most of the attack skills are +xx and go right through armour. If you're problem is surviving, well, take some defence. Wards, armour buffs, weakness, blind, daze etc. Oh, and prot monks and rits are really good. And if you're a caster, don't take stuff that takes forever to cast. Either someone will hit you with a hammer and KD or a piece of the roof will fall on your head and interrupt you.

They may seem to know what theyre doing, they most likely dont. Get guildies or people from your alliance. I dont see what youre having trouble with.
As long as the warrior is tanking, the monks are backline, the elementalists are blasting, in other words, if all people are doing their job, you wont have a problem, at all.

I've never found this mission to be at all difficult. I hench masters in ~22 mins (8 mins early). I've found that Danika only runs out if the boss is dead, so blind that meat mincer, kill everything else, then rip him in half asap. Even if Danika runs out before the boss is dead, just reposition yourselves so the Warrior keeps aggro on the Stone Warrior dudes (the boss should be blinded, so he can be ignored), the Monks are somewhere in the middle somewhere, and fight outwards. Kill the weak ones first (backfiring the Eles would be good). If the Warrior has a brain (if its you, if you're only henching), he can run [skill=text]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill], and some form of anti-knockdown if they knockdown.

Hehe,
I remember my rit gettin smacked for some 400 damage by that hammer boss, (ouch!). The main problems are those stone guys right?
OK heres what u need:
-get heavy degen (by hexes NOT conditions)
-get a blinding air-ele
-get some AoE positive effects (spirits, wards, etc.)
-Do not try this mission with henchies
-assassins are not right for this mission
-get fast casting spells
-take the stone necros out first
i dont see how u have problems with this mission, me and a friend did it with heros easily.

Take particular note of this bit.
Danika starts to open the door when the warrior boss is dead.
Tactic: Kill all stone creatures whilst kiting from or disabling (with blind etc) the warrior boss. When there is just the warrior boss left kill him and go over to the Door with Danika. Now you should only have 2 Stone Guardians to deal with...protect Danika as best you can.

well i never had too much of a problem with this mission. i beat this with my sin and got masters with a hench only team. no heros! all the stuff til the end was easy buy when u get to the end this is how i did it.
first i got the oni spawns. then i aggroed the boss and took him down fast. so now danika runs in. so me and all the henches run into the fray and just distract the dumb statues til danika finishes the door opening spell.
after listening to her squeaky voice the beautiful sound of the masters swords being drawn quickyly follow >.>

Ran this mission last night and the Bad Hammer Jammer got me, but only because Danika got caught in the environment and would not move so the mission really was over for me but I continued just for the fun of it. If she gets caught and cannot follow you the ceiling still falls on you when you take the Bad Hammer Jammer on. It is extremely hard with the extra interruption.
Any way back on subject
If you are having issues at the final part let the stone critters spawn group up and pull the stone hammer boss with a bow and let him come to you.

I henched this mission in NM w/ my mesmer and got masters on it, suprisingly.
I kind of forgot to pick up Danika after the cutscene, and I just hacked my way through the middle path, and when I reached the stone boss fight area, they all popped up and although some of my henchies/heroes died (multiple times) the monsters eventually died. (mesmer > bosses btw) Then I stood there for awhile and was wondering why the mission wouldn't end, and I realized that Danika wasn't with us. xP I ran all the way back to the beginning and picked her up, although I died once due to environmental effect (flagged henchies @ end of mission), the henchies kept trying to res me but couldn't. >.> Eventually thye did and I got masters which really suprised me. =p

Like the person quoted, I've never had too much trouble with the mission with henchies. Last time, a few days ago, I didn't even need to kill all the stone dudes. I just ran around with the henchies, kiting, bashing, healing.
I find flagging the henchies/heroes to where you want them to go really, really helps. Always. Move them if they're getting hammered. Keep close to Danika as she opens the door, holding agro as best you can so she doesn't get hit, and so she gets heals from the henchies. It doesn't take her long to open the door, and you're done
I did it with a sin crit barrage build to keep myself back with the casters for this. I find it helps me if I'm controlling only henchies and heroes.
