That being said, I'm very happy that you're going to be offering GW:EN and its pre-order in the online store now.

I'm happy, too. It definitely seems a win/win/win situation. For those who had trouble with their orders in the past, for those who want to be sure to have the access keys in time, and for those for whom getting a boxed product is nigh on impossible--for instance they live in an area or even a country where the preorder isn't stocked--the online store is the way to go.

Nightfall was DVD only, so I don't see why EotN won't be. You can always stream the content after putting your key in.

Looks like I have to buy it again from Fry’s electronics for $10 (U.S.). The first time EB games got in the Faction one, they got it way ahead of schedule. However the Nightfall one never came in and you could only get it through their online store. The retailers have started becoming evil over them; so they can hold out these bonus packs for a price, or sometimes not give them out at all (even though you bought the game ahead of time for it).

The DVD really doesn't matter at all because you can even download the client from the Internet. It is the key that is worth the money. The DVD is just a convenient way to install the new addition for people with bad internet. At least thats the way I see it.

I have a question that may seem silly:
When you order from the online store, the store says it adds the key directly to the account. What happens if you have more than one account? Can you order more than one set of pre-order and game keys with only one GW account name? Are you provided with the keys separately to add to your second account or do you have to order the sets separately and create a second PlayNc account for your 2nd account?
Sorry if this may seem like a stupid question, but if I can order the pre-order and the game off the online store for my son and myself, I'd much rather do it this way. As long as both keys are not added to just one account that is. That is the part that concerns me, I wouldn't want both keys to be added to the same account as that would be a waste of money.

Remember, when you purchase things from the in-game store, you access it from the login screen. Ie, you have already logged in to the account that you wish to add whatever it is you're buying to. I'd think you can purchase yours, have your son log on, and purchase his from his login screen.
(I can only speak for my experiences purchasing Game of the Year pack and several character slots via login screen--I've never bought a whole game this way...)

Thanks Sonofisba, you're right I hadn't thought about the fact that you are already logged in when you go into the GWstore.

I'm so glad people read manuals. Manuals need appreciation. Manuals take effort to create.

Gaile I have a question, if we want to buy the pre-order thing from the in-game store do we have to wait until the day its released then buy it or can we get the option of buying it early and having it equipped on the account then on the day the pre-order event can the key get activated?

Then I got the collectors standard edition? I'm looking at my standard edition, and it's clearly DVD. In fact, I had to stream it because I had no DVD drive when I bought it.

No where in the UK seems to know anything about the pre-order pack, except for Amazon, who are charging a ridiculous amount for it. Guess I'll check out the online store.

It's only the beginning of July. Wait abit til mid or toward the end of July, I'm sure we will see the pre-order box in GAMES or HMV etc then.

For the record Gaile, Frys.com was excellent to order from. Not only was NF priced at $39.99 (10 bucks below retail), but it included the pre-release bonus pack (spear, scythe and extra char slot) for free. Shipping was free and the game arrived the day before launch. Did I mention no sales tax either to Florida!
Out of curiosity, I went to Circuit City on NF launch day. They didn't have the game available for purchase. However, they did have the pre-release bonus pack priced at $7.99.
I would gladly order the game from NC soft on the day of launch if there was some incentive, but sadly there isn't. You guys charge full retail price and all you get is the activation code. No bright shiny box with nice pictures on it. No kewl poster and other assorted art work and no manual.

It's a bit off-topic, but I'd just like to agree that all the printed material you get with a boxed copy of any GW campaign (even the non-collector's editions) is really, really nice, especially in an age where most games publishers seem to regard even a basic printed manual as somewhat of an unwarranted luxury, so props to Anet for that.

This is whats confusing me:
All the sites selling it for £17.99 (released 31st August) dont mention anything about a pre-order package. I have no idea if you get a pre-order box on the 20th July with those sites or not.
GAME, Play.com etc all mention nothing about a pre-order package/box.
People seem sure they're getting the pre-order box from sites that dont even mention its existence. You can pre-order anything these days, thats not automatically the same as getting a seperate pre-order box is it?
Amazon clearly counts the pre-order package and the main game as 2 seperate products. I have no idea if you get the main game with the expensive Amazon pre-order box, but it would be outrageous if you didnt at that high price *shrug*.
So which is it, order the pre-order box seperately, order the pre-order box and get the game too when its out, or order the game and get the pre-order box?
Bleh, wish these sites had proper details so I knew what to order.
