Should GW:EN release date be delayed?
The problem regarding lag is persisting and making the game totally unplayable at times, (tonight for example).
Should GW:EN release date be delayed if this problem persist?
I ask as there does not seem to be end in sight and the problem, for me at lease, whilst spasmodic, seems to be worsening.
I was really looking forward to GW:EN but if this persist I may have to think again on spending more money on a game I can not play 100% of the time.
On a side note, please do not have any more weekend events whilst this lag issue continues, for many it’s a complete waste of time.

No, something that only affects one territory shouldn't make the other territories suffer. If you find Guild Wars to be unplayable, then don't buy GW:EN until the problem is fixed. You are not being forced to buy it on release.
EDIT: Sorry, meant Guild Wars as a whole, not GW:EN.

August 31st is already bad enough, why delay it? Personally I think they should release it earlier. Lag is not a reason to delay anything, btw, I don't get lag and neither does 95% of my guild( I know I asked. )

Delay the release date because of lag?
No, there would be a riot if that happened.

How can you determine GW:EN to be unplayable if you haven't bought it?

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm talking about Lotrfish's post.
Something has to be done before GW:EN is released, and I'm hoping that something is done by the end of the month.

and by many, are you referring to the majority of the 3.5million strong player base?

Definitely not. It sucks for those who are having problems, but not all of us are. I don't see why we should all miss out.

Well the matter is out of Arena-Nets hands. All they can do is just try and help but its not directly in their hands. This was stated by Gaile.

No no, I'm not disagreeing with you. Yes something must be done about this lag before the release. I was merely pointing out something in Lotrfish's post.

Scarey thing is that GW:EN will add a graphics update which will surely make laggy load times worse
Also you say no more Events till GW:EN but think about that
Lots of people came back to GW for dragonfest and the servers were worked to limit, think how the servers will die on 31st Aug

Ok, my apologies.
I was slightly ‘peeved’ tonight to find that once again, for me, GW is unplayable.
Lonesamurai, I did state ‘many’, not the ‘majority’, who are experiencing problems at the moment. Just head over to the Technician’s Corner and read for yourself.
Naturally GW:EN release date should not be delayed due to this, (I’ve had a few beers and the wife has gone to bed so stress level has lowered somewhat).
I still stand by my statement though that the event weekends should be shelved until this is resolved. ‘Many’ cannot participate and the ‘I’m alright’ attitude from the lag free luck ones does, in my opinion, seem a bit selfish.
Like many I’ve been looking forward to the release of GW:EN but the anticipation is some what tinged with trepidation that this issue will not be resolved soon.

I remember when the game F.E.A.R. released a patch that made it unplayable - literally. The application would shutdown three seconds after it started! - on only a select few computers. It seemed totally random, and it was completely annoying and frusterating. And yes, there was a flux of people saying "lol it works fine for mi!", and I had never wanted to throttle someone over the internet as much as in those 3 weeks (that's how long it took to get fixed)

I haven't had any lag at all in the 4-5 days... I did maybe 7-10 days ago tho...
Umm, ya anyway, I don't think they should delay it.

No it shouldn't be. It sucks that some people are having lag issues, but I don't think everyone should suffer for it.

Why would it be de3layed because a minority section of the players is having lag? I've had no problem with lag at all.

In all honestly will online games ever be 100% lag free for everyone all the time?
Should we stop producing all online games until everyone is lag free?
