Riding Golems in GW:EN?
I was reading the new artical on the ing.com wedsite for GW:EN, and it said,
Quote:
Later on in the game you'll actually be able to use the golems, taking control and utilizing their unique skill sets.
|
This sounds a lot like how they described the worms in nightfall, maybe we get to ride the golems too.

Here is something from the official wiki.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gaile...f_E3_Messaging
The last note says we can't directly control golems.

I imagine it'll be like controlling pets - just flagging them or assigning targets. They probably figured they could just reuse the pet code for Golems.

Although it would be cool if we could ride them like mechs and hold 'Rock'Em Sock'Em robot tournaments in outposts.

Lol, *Story Telling Voice* The Asura created mighty robots which were used to defend them against the great threat of the Destroyers. *Camera turns to two Asura fighting in them with a crowd betting* i can imagine it now

The Tarnished Coast is located on the coastal area south of the Maguuma Jungle; it is not at all connected with the Kingdom of Orr, which sank into the sea long ago. The idea that Orr may someday rise from the depths is interesting, but nothing like that happens in GW:EN.

Awesome, Penny Arcade reference?
Well, at least Anet can't be accused of stringing anyone along...
Now, if only they did a Bonus Mission for Orr!

what i seem to think is that the golems you ride arent creatures like the flesh golems. I thought they ment like Golems as in statues; like magical rock cannons i pictured.

You know I have been thinking after playing through Neverwinter Nights 2; I have this odd feeling that the Golem will be a hero.

That would go against Gaile's comments, as she said you can't directly control the Golem.
