No worries. However, we do expect thank you's.
Also, you may want to condense all of those posts into one or two that have other people's post between them. The local mod Firebat gets really cranky when you make multiple posts in a row.
And what's your grudge with imageshack?

I don't know what it is, but I'm only at 95.2%. I've checked other complete maps out there and I just can't figure out what I'm missing. Perhaps I've just got bad eye sight or something. Any help or directions are appriciated.
Main land is here, Shing Jea here.

Step 1: Go to page 1 and look for the sirens.
Step 2: Read everything in Livingston's thread linked nearby
Step 3: Alt-tab on your own
Step 4: Get up to 99ish percent, no matter your eyesight.
Step 5: Post your new maps, from U window, in this thread.
Step 6: Get GM Cartographer title!

I got 98.4%. I've done everything you Livingston said in his thread. I cannot find any more areas other than Jade Quarry which I cannot do as people are never there. There is also probably .1% in that starter area ( I got most of it, this is near docks). But I've looked over maps many times for every other area and found places and did them. But now I'm stumped cause I know Jade Quarry won't do 1.6.
Well I just got that piece near Harbor. Didn't even give me .1% though.

Your problem is that you're using the overview map and taking clear zoomed-in screenshots rather than the "U" minimap. Cloud cover shadows on the overview map make it much harder for the eye to pinpoint minor differences between two otherwise identical images because the eye recognizes shadow as a difference. Try comparing Leighwyn's map to your "U" map, either as an open Guild Wars map or after taking screenshots of your "U" window stretched as wide as possible.

Have you checked the commonly missed spots in Livingston's thread? I've posted directions to reach each of them on page 2 of that thread.
If you still can't find what you're missing after Livingston's thread, your only recourse is to take screenshots of your "U" window stretched as wide as possible and post them in this thread so that someone else can compare them for you. I personally don't have time to compare maps now that college is taking up most of my time, but someone will surely help you out.

I hate Photobucket because it resizes large files automatically. It would help if you hosted your images somewhere else like imageshack.us or another image hosting site.

pop ups? to begin with........lets just let imagefack die ok?
and the programers who created this site (or the programing for it) will only allow 5 jpg uploads from your computer per thread. that is why I didnt put them all together, cant, site wont let me............
"You have uploaded the maximum of 5 files" ok?

Okay. Well I went to your helpful section in that thread. Found about 6 more spots. Plus the 2 in Quarry. I'm still not gonna hit 100% though. I burned my eyes out tabbing back and forth and found all I could find.
Since then I got a place in northeast Shing Jea, Boreas, the edge by Gyala to the north. A place in Zin Ku, a place in Tahnahki, the edge of the mountain in Pongmei...and some of the map in lower Gyala. I didn't update cause I'm doing many things at once. So you can circle areas you see and I'll disregard if I already have, that's if someone looks at them for me. Thanks for any help..
I'm at 99.2% now by the way. With only the two spots in Jade Quarry to do. Which will probably give me .1% more.

Step 1: Done. Did that a while ago. It's what got me to 95% in the first place.
Step 2: Took a look at that, but only found that after I made my post.
Step 3: I have two monitors, no alt+tab.
Step 4: Got about another 1%, but that's it.
Step 5: I'll get around to that later.
Step 6: Workin' on it.
question though: how much of the map is revealed in Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood?

Just as an FYI, alt+tab technique is used because its the superior technique, not because one is unable to compare side-by-side If you have two monitors, just use one and alttab till your keyboard dies!

turns out my eyes are pretty good at side by side comparison. Which is good cause I run at 1280 and the maps are 1024. Alt+tab'ing wouldn't work unless I resized and that would mess up UI.

If you aren't alt tabbing then you have no hope.
If you save the map you are comparing to then windows picture and fax viewer will allow you to zoom in closer. Also if you are using the U map, all you need do is use the middle mouse button and you can zoom in on that. So there is absolutely no reason not to alt tab, and every reason to do so. You would have to have bionic eyes in order to pick up the extremely minute differences that will occur when looking for spots that you have missed as they will often be only 2-3 pixels that are different. Had you got to 100% going from monitor to monitor (which is even worse than a side by side comparison) then I would congratulate you, however, you don't have 100%, in fact you don't even have 98% which is the barest minimum you should have before even thinking of asking others for help, as you are missing vastly huge portions of the map. The fact that you are asking for our help at such an early stage in your title acquisition in itself points to the weakness of the method you are using. If it has to do with Canthan cartography and me, Leighwyn, and Shyft all are telling you the same thing, you can bet that we know what we are talking about and you HAVE to do this.
Friends don't let friends compare side to side.
Alt tab FTW!
Livingston
I won't have time to look at maps until a film festival is over, and my night shift following immediately afterwards.
BTW: Anyone who is a fan of slasher movies (and even those who aren’t really, but have seen them) must see "Behind the Mask - The Rise of Leslie Vernon" it is awesome. Not yet in wide release, but should be soon. IMDB it.

I'm offically stuck at 99.6%. I've explored maps back and forth, and I cannot find anymore areas that I'm missing. I'll be putting up my new maps in a few minutes, but yeah. I think I've looked at the 100% map at least 5 times now over the whole area tabbing back and forth. I would really appreciate it, if someone with 100% would check my maps out.
Here are my maps again, this time a bit more updated as I found more spots.

posting this for a friend, he is at 99.3% and cant find any more. im not sure if someone can do another analysis of the bigger zoomed out maps, but if possible that would be very great. would do the U screenshots, but its late and i cant post everything for him, so i just thought id hope for this way. thanks in advance if anyone could try a quick analysis (gosh, what a stupid word )

DJ Deviate: ImageShack resized your images to disappointingly small, can't do anything with them until they're normal-sized.
Tetz: What is your current %? I like to know that before-hand
Gareth: Shing Jea spots: 2, 11, 13, 14, 18, 19
Kaineng spots: two in 12, 6
Qinkai spots: 1, between 11 and 12, midway between 10 and 11 (on the way to arborstone), 14, very bottom of 12, just outside HZH (just south of the green area in ferndale), 16, 13
Unwaking: 7, 9, 18, halfway between 8 and 19 (the little river thing in the NE corner of a zone), 12
Luxon: just above 7
Mokone: Can't do much with zoomed-out (and for next time, make it a normal resolution to make it easier ), but what I immediately saw was that he needs to do Jade Quarry (could be 0.4 right there), the very SW corner of shing jea island (look at one of my zoomed-out maps, and then look at his. Note the glitched horizontal line that is missing), and the very NE corner of the luxon areas (i forget what the town is called, the one due north of Gyala) he is missing some stuff, I guess exploring the town more there would reveal it. If you need and want more information about missing spots, you'll need to post U screens.
