Did anyone get 100% without ever going into Jade Quarry battle zone?

well, looking at it, Jade Quarry should give you around the same amount as the Arena + The Overlook, so if you see them as equal area, Leighwyn did it since on that date, no Tyria chars could access either of them. :P so technically..yeah, its possible. however, you will have to find more spots by wallhugging which will probably be more of a pain than going there with some others.
but besides the point, getting some guildies or people from the alliance to go there REALLY aint hard.

Well I tested this with a guildie on a dual run, and also tested Armor levels, and still no banishment. In the end I wondered if it was distance related. And Woosh, instant banish. Retry's proved this theory. So, you have to be the furthest away to get banished. (...imo...)
Perhaps someone else can prove / double check this.

Come to think of it, I was having similar problems the one time I PUGed myself a banishment buddy in Imperial Sanctum. He was a ranger, and I set up my E/Mo with Armor of Mist and Mist Form to engage but survive Shiro, and to lose the bound bosses' aggro once my partner was banished. I never got banished on that run.

If so, how can I get to it, since I have already gotten as close as I think I can in both places. (first one is north of aspenwood, second is in unwaking). Thanks in advance.
|
The left spot is a definite yes, simply because I've seen it so many times. For the right spot (and to confirm you're missing the left spot) I'd much rather have a fullsize screenshot of your "U" window to compare to Leighwyn's map by the ALT+TAB method. It's the only way to be certain.

Uncovering a single spot of fog does not automatically give you 0.1% toward the title. In my experience, each spot amounts to about 1/3 of 0.1%, since it took about 3 of them to move my exploration bar. I'd estimate the Jade Quarry at 0.4% conservatively - if you hug the walls and go inside the side quarries and uncover all the edges, I'd easily call it a 0.5% - but because everyone will enter the battle at different "hidden" percentage, there is no guarantee that everyone will receive the same exploration % advancement, especially since most people fail to clear everything on the first run (the Quarry is actually a fun area, you know )
I'd still say that if you only got 0.2% from it you need to go back. Check against Leighwyn's map to see if you're still missing things inside.

-north wall of Ferndale;
-NE and SE corners of Fort Aspenwood battle area;
-all of Jade Quarry battle area.
Out of curiosity, why not just post all your screenshots at once?

Spot the 0.1%
Ok guys, I've managed to get up to 99.9% - got an extra 0.1% from the top left banishment area at the end there.
However, I'm stuck where to pick up 0.1% Please can someone have a look at this and see if they can spot anything?
edit: please see below for 100% map
It's a 99.9% completed map stitched together from minimap segments. Much appreciated!
p.s. I do have the Shing Jea arena (well the bit I could map, too high level to go inside)

yer missing a tiny bit of the festival area if yer tyrian born too late, otherwise hug the wall of where you kill your first mantid / the wurms were
other than that, if D A R K F A I T H still controls eredon terrace talk to someone from the alliance and have them invite you to the guild, easy 0.5% [took me from 99.3to 99.8 at least, I might have been at 99.39 and it's actually only .41 but whatever, all ya nee dis .2~~]

Yep Tyrian (my first every GW char) - kicked myself once I noticed I didn't get all the training/festival area during the event. Which mantids/wurms would those be? If the canthan training ones, can't get there anymore I think.

You managed to get into the Monastery Overlook during the festival, so you're far from stuck.
You can pick up your title by uncovering:
-north wall of Raisu Palace explorable;
-east wall of Dragon's Throat outpost (uncover from outside the outpost);
-west wall of Tahnnakai Temple explorable;
-NW corner of Shenzun Tunnels;
-a spot SW of Zin Ku Corridor (uncover from inside the outpost);
-SE corner of Nahpui Quarter mission;
-NW corner of Sunjiang District explorable;
-north part of the "farmland" spot east of Maatu Keep;
-north wall of Boreas Seabed outpost;
-center of Boreas Seabed explorable;
-NE and SE corners of Fort Aspenwood battle area;
-west wall and SE corner of Jade Quarry battle area;
-NW corner of Arborstone explorable (on the "top level");
-center of Melandru's Hope;
-north wall of Vasburg Armory outpost;
-north wall of Morostav Trail;
-SE corner of Kurzick Unwaking Waters outpost;
-NW corner of Unwaking Waters explorable.
Now get into those outposts and get your title!

Woohoo! Thanks very much Shyft, that was the ticket
I scraped along the SW of Zin Ku Corridor; no obvious change to map that I noticed. North Wall Vasburg; again nothing happened that I could tell.
North Wall of Boreas Seabed outpost - that ticked it over Good set of eyes you got there. Might just go ahead and do the rest mentioned for completeness hehe
Pic where it happened (just over that bridge which I must have missed lol)
Now to figure out which title to do for Kind of a Big Deal

you should hide your skillbar, it reveals one of the deadlier combos in guild wars.

Deadlier being the right word!
Congrats on the title
EDIT: The reason you got nothing in Zin Ku Corridor might be because the spot is uncovered not from the area with the gods' statues but from the spot south of the zone point to Tahnnakai Temple explorable, in the corner behind a collector.

Yes and no.
Yes because there are certain spots in certain mission areas reachable from the mission path only - like the east wall of Vizunah Square and the SE corner of Unwaking Waters - which people usually miss on their first pass because they're focused on getting through the game and not uncovering fog.
No because many mission areas in Factions are smaller than their explorable counterparts. For example, Zen Daijun and Tahnnakai Temple both have gates that are locked during the mission, and the Nahpui Quarter explorable does not overlap the mission area at all.
If you really want to know the answer, compare your map to Leighwyn's by using the method and the map he posted on page 2 of this thread. That way, you'll know beforehand if you're missing any spots in any specific areas, and won't have to blindly walk the edges of every single zone in hope of uncovering more fog.

If you're at 81% you've still got loads to go. Here are some generic tips for you:
-explore all mission areas except for Dragon's Throat. This includes Fort Aspenwood, Jade Quarry, Amatz Basin, Aurios Mines, Altrumm Ruins, and Zos Shivros Channel. They all count towards the exploration title.
-make sure to enter the explorable areas that differ from their mission counterparts significantly. Tahnnakai Temple explorable is about double the size of the mission path, and Nahpui Quarter is actually two different zones as mentioned earlier.
-walk the walls of every zone on Shing Jea Island. With the possible exception of Zen Daijun, it's easy enough to solo everything there. Clearing fog on Shing Jea Island is as easy as it gets, second only to clearing fog from inside an outpost.
When you get to about 90% I recommend comparing your map to Leighwyn's by using the ALT+TAB method he posted on page 2 of this thread so you can pinpoint the deviations and zero in on them.

Ok thought I'd help out a bit. Here is my 100% map, minimap shots stitched together from 1280x1024 shots. I found the reference 100% map from early in this thread wasn't quite the same size as my ingame minimap so had to keep moving it around subtly to line it up.
1280x1024 Minimap Segments. Right Click, Save Target As - 1.27Mb
I've gone ahead and stripped out large non-explorable chunks. That should help narrow down by region. I left in some non-explorable fog at edges etc. for reference. Hope that helps! Good luck fellow cartographers
p.s. This is my 100% one, obviously there are some more specks around which add up to more than 100% as mentioned above.
