Ty gaile. I know me asking about the Everlasting is a little out there, if you were to write code for it in the Hall of Monuments it'd be code for 31 people.. But in my humble opinion it's just as valuable as all the other limited release stuff you've rewarded long-term/hardcore players with over the years. Including items that only have 26 or 29 copies in existance.

I think you're talking about massive inflation (gold value crash) in the short term (people offering shit tons of money for things they want) followed by a massive gold value spike later..

I think the gold dumping and increase in value may not be as hard if they indeed make it that you can continue unlocking stuff even after you linkeda GW1 and a GW2 account. Please do NOT make it a one-shot deal or there may be indeed very weird things happening.
Like ppl not buying GW2 untill they unlocked the stuff they want to take with them and the mentioned gold spike etc.

They've already said you will be able to continue to add things to your GW1 account to unlock more in GW2.

If mini-pets do count for Hall, we can do some borrowing of mini-pets.

Let's hope that for weapons and mini-pets there won't be any kind of "consume function" - as soon as you add smtg in the hall, it's also deleted from your storage...

I get the feeling that you go into the hall of monuments in GWEN and then the hall is customized to your achievements. Perhaps like: you wear an ascended armor and you can then "activate" the ascended unlock in the hall.

My guess is that the item drops and anything on that character that has been activated by the character (ie unopened minipet, assigned drop, bought armor, etc) will be counted towards the HoM. Im pretty sure theyve saved a ton of data of daily actions of each player from day1 of the game.
If it is truly retroactive (as it was said) scrapping something shouldnt matter nor if it isnt in your inventory/storage anymore.
It would very much suck if you can just buy stuff and unlock it. not much of an accomplishment at all.
/fenx Gaile, cant wait to hear more specifics on this.
/g'day.

I wonder how soon new GW2 characters get access to the hall. If they get access right away, I fear all of the unlocks will be newbie-level (like Shing Jea greens) and not be useful for very long.

Make it so that everything you put in the Hall is customized, so you don't lose it and people can't farm it .
Even minipets and stuff.

It all depends on what it unlocks.
Speculation:
Ranger Pets unlock Pets in GW2.
Mini-pets might just stay the same.
Armor unlocks special armor (armor may "grow" with you, since there is high level cap).
Weapons could be skin only. If Anet takes the Inscription idea to the Nth degree, we may only need a skin, and can upgrade damage and modifiers as we progress.
Heros will unlock Companions.

That would be kind of cool. Some of the weapons I liked the most were not max damage. They could tie this into jobs like metal working for swords or carpentry for bows and use that to upgrade your weapons and make some extra money on the side by selling stuff to other players.
Now I shall ready myself for the flames since I suggested something that would require some "grind."

The videos from E3, it was said that you could invite other players into your HoM.

If higher levels, crafting and (maybe?) fishing count as "grind": then I hope GW2 has it.
I'm over the whole "grind" thing. I play games to have fun. The fact I keep making pre-searing characters tells me one thing: It doesn't matter what some people call grind or not, all that matters is that I'm having fun.
As long as Guild Wars 2 is fun, I'll be playing it, even if I'm level 20 in a level 80 world!

Actually, you can take parties to your HoM and invite people there, similar to your guild hall, but its like your own house or court

I hope that's not true, but it would be the only way to keep Mini-pets from unlocking on every character.
To buy minipets or not to buy... that is the question.

not necessarily
how about this to keep people from playing musical pets.
if you put it in your monument it is customized and simply will not be accepted in a trade window.
the other characters on your account can still use that pet but not sell it.
otherwise everybody would have every pet.
the only title i did not get for just playing the game is drunkard and that is the only ttle i am entering.
aso my minipet collection
thats it

That would work, but I find it hard to believe after all this time, Anet would make mini-pets customized (it's been suggested before...)
Still, a better alternative to locking them away! Then again, we don't really have to store them until right before GW2 comes out. So, maybe just lock up the ones you don't like for space, and keep the ones you like to show off.

Come again? You sound drunk just saying that! Did you get the Drunkard title or not?
