I dont care what many of you fools are saying.Weddings are needed as an option for erotic RP if your age on account is older then 18 and only allowed in GH or your own Gwen Monument hall.

aaww come on, who here doesn't want to see a charr in a wedding dress? :P
...I have no opinion on this, if the rp's want their weddings I don't see why not, it's not like we don't already have loads of imature kids spamming "LF GF" and such.

Guys, come on, think of it as a way to spend time in GW when you have finished every mission or every quest or just plain bored. It pulls people in GW.

I'm for both in GW2.
I want to see in GW2 for 100% sure a much better trade&sell system, best would be giving out a Class like "Blacksmith" too, which is able to make a little bazaar wherever the player wants and people can buy them from the player's bazaar direct. (simple good RO system)
open vend, put ur stuff in, set prices and wait, till people buy ...
As long there r still npc venders out there, which will sell the same stuff at fixed prices, it will be no problem and prices of players will never raise to ridiculous sums, like 100 P for a dumb little rune of fire magic, when a npc sells it for like 400 gold ...
I never understood, why Anet hadnt made a vender class at beginning with prophecies as core profession ... would be the easiest solution of all, far more easier then implemenrting a whole auction house, which kills far more the data bases of the servers.
When GW2 should become really more like a real good MMORPG then has Anet a lot to learn about the good older games and the newer ones, games like Lineage 2, Ragnarok Online 1/2, Granado Espada ect but even to learn from offline games like the Gothic games or Fable ...
There r even lots of free MMORPG's like RAPPELZ, Anet could learn of of features that r cool and interesting and good thought out for a MMO game with a fantasy middleage RPG story like GW. Other Games Developers like those of WoW (Blizzard) do this too, get inspired by other games to make their own better, but don't just copy simple ... they search simple nice features of other games they think would be nice for the own game, cause such a like feature is missing in the own game, but make out of the inspirement then a totally new idea with differences of the original, so that no one can say, developers just copied something ...
Weddings r a nice feature, they give a nice gameplay and for RP a wonderful feeling. They r especially really nice, when u found really ingame a nice person of the other gender u really like and theo ther one u too and u both r absolutely RPG Freaks ... Weddings r wonderfull funny small personal events which make simple fun, when u see them as well thought out event with nice effects and people wearing wedding clothes and all.
playing a wedding is just boring, when u as RPG freak must play this all in ur thoughts and the priest which will marry u and ur future wife only exists then in ur both dreams oO
As meanwhile said: nobody enforces u to marry someone .. players get no advantages through it, maybe just some simple fun skills for PvE, like those which u get, when u marry in ragnarok Online, like warping automatically to the place, where ur husband or ur wife is.
The typical fun skill "I'll miss U".
=========
And about sexism, people which do the stuff, meantioned here, r for me just simple plain stupid and naive, just people which won't exist for me and which i ignore ingame like i ignore everyone ingame, that is just plain stupid and can only post his/her shit out of his/her brain or flames only and spams nonsense.
So weddings would be naturally something, where those 2, which will hold the ceremony somewhere, have then the might, to ban stupid people out of their wedding instance, then can those who want to merry do this in peace and harmony, without any sexistic jerks

I think korean MMMO's use ingame weddings as a sort of a last resort to interest their players when all the grind-fest is finally starting to bore. I personally hate the idea. It's childish. Roleplay-oriented people will find their own ways to do this if they must. No need to shove it on our faces.
I doubt something like this will be implemented but it would certainly lower my respect for the game team and the game itself. It would be like they didn't take themselves seriously anymore. Like a good heavymetal band starting to play pop crap instead. Hopefully not.
Hate to see people compare GW to RO of all things too.
Auction House system would be awesome but without the game money market revolving fully around it. Goldselling might explode if the system isn't perfected. Armor should still be sold and bought the way it is now imo.

Wow...never thought I would see so many people playing an RP game and complaining about the RP aspect of it. Some people like to actually role play their characters rather then be a person staring at a screen killing pixels all the time. I see no problem with a marriage system and wouldnt mind seeing it put into GW2. It would add a bit to the whole role playing aspect. If it causes a flood of spamming just have done in GW2 whats started up in GW, spam bans, simple as that. I think marriages would add a bit more depth to the role playing aspect and make it more interesting. As for divorce thing, whats yours is your whats theirs is theirs, simple as that. Dont try to bring in rl legal aspects into the game and complicate it. It would only end up turning people off in fear of losing what they own.
The auction house, we all pretty much have the same feelings towards it. Its a long waited and much needed aspect. Hope it does find its way into the game.

The only thing "marriages" would do is give someone with a regular partner for e-self-gratification some psychological justification for all the ruined keyboards.
This goes way beyond a NO.

Wow, one word in a wiki is all it takes to generate sych a heated discussion?
Surely, I've missed my calling in life!
But serious, until anyone can dredge up the source of this information, I'm treating it as a "rumor."
That said, I have no problem with the idea per se. After all, you can get "married" in Guild Wars right now! Use your Guild Hall. Invite friends. Get plenty of alcohol and treats, and a "Monk" to "Bless" this fictional union, and your set!
Not sure what other mechanic Anet would need to introduce, unless we are having kids in Guild Wars 2...

Every single negative response to marriages in this thread has been bitter tinged or small minded.
Marriages would be a peripheral and fun tool, especially for role players. There is absolutely no reason this shouldn't be implemented.
Get over yourselves

Did you just put the words marriage and erotic together? Lol. I'm pretty sure marriage immediately cancels out any kind of eroticism.

I like to think it's important people state their opinions while we actually have a GW team representative here in the forums. Anet has been known to listen to their fans before and I appreciate them very much for it so it might just count to voice your opinion.
There's no need to agree with other people's opinions I say. Wheter you agree to this topic or not. It sure does seem very far fetched though.

I would really like an auction house system. That would make selling, obviously, much easier. I would be in favor of a system that either allows us to hold auction for items, or allow us to to set up mini "shops." Where you would maybe use the party search window to announce the shop. Something like: "Mystical Hayes' Shoppe of Rare Magikal Weapons." or "The Sweet Toothe Imporiam; Speciality Sweets Shoppe." THAT would be really rather awesome. Indeed, it would support AFK'ing in towns, but people do that already kind of.
Another thing i'd be in support of is a appearence changer. Not so much as a gender changer, I think that may go too far in the long run. Definately not a name change; that would support spoofing. But a NPC in town that can, for a price, change your hair style and colour, facial appearence, maybe even changing your charactor's body colour. Like a tanning boothe, I guess.
However, going so far as to support in-game relationships would be pushing it too far. That could get very odd very fast. I mean, I forsee, as people have mentioned it, boost the sexist ego of the younger generation that play teh game, too. I forsee seeing this ic local chat: "WTB/WTS hot babe bride! big knockers, virgin, blah blah blah 100k100e!!! bargin!" I mean, comon now.
My 2 cents on the matter.

U've no clue, those korean MMO"RPG"s are mostly in fact of long time motivation and in fact of cool interesting RPG features much more better, then GW1 is in the moment.
Especially mostly in kind of Quests, which r not so often ever boring stuff like:
Kill A, Kill B, talk with C and receive boring 3000 exp, less money and some points for boring titles that u need for the story until a certain point and then only to get slightly personal advantages vs special enemies. The motivation to do ever and ever again same looking quests, which goal ist mostly at 90% ever to kill only lots of monsters and receive as bonus only such boring stuff ever ...
Every offline RPG like Gothic 3 even is a x times better in sort of quests, then GW is in the moment. When Anet would make this only good, by increasing the Enemies KI, but no, they simple put only more and more Enemies now ever only in ur way, which r mostly now ever insort of Levels stronger, than u ...
This gets boring and shows not really, that Anet is very creative ...
But to get the curve finally back to the topic XD *god u land so quick in offtopic ^^*, i hope, the monsters and enemies in GW:EN will not be just simple direct only tons of lvl 28 , that u can't make there 10 steps without having to fear, that then 50 mosnters of lvl 28 will follow ur pixel ass, raping u to death and seeing, how ur team gets smashed into the ground in seconds like this happens in some places quick in Factions and Nightfall oO
Since Factions the number of enemy groups, which stand near together to form uber huge enemy groups, when u move not clever forward raises and raises -.- .
PS: Ragnarok Online 1 is still one of the best MMORPG's out there, even when its looks like a total old game of the year 1990, its till today a game, that fascinates millions of players cause of its good simple rpg gameplay and its imo most simple good character evolution system id wish to have somehow too for GW2

And isn't it childish to make Anet not implanting something because you dislike it ? I mean, it's not like you were forced to get married.
It's just the same as people who want farming to be removed because they don't farm...
Of course we're already doing "marriages" but having a real option would be probably more realistic. They may be rings and stuff like this.
Did a little fun killed anyone ?

Hmm...that got me to thinking. If they do actually make it a real thing (or are still thinking on it), maybe they can make it some sort of GH upgrade or something that lasts for xx amount of time. Then people who don't like it won't have to use it, and those who enjoy it won't have to be worried about being spammed "U R A LOSER" or "GET A LYFE" in all chat. I still stick with it as being a decent idea just for fun or perfect for RPers, as people have said earlier.

GvG is essential to the games success...marriage is not....
but whatever...imo they shouldn't implement it.

I sent a message to the mods but it seems they are leaving it alone due to it's popularity. Yes that annoys me. It should be moved to Riverside or a GW2 forum should be created...this thread doesn't belong here.
