Marriages won't increase sexism. It's already here, I mean, I'm a girl and when people know it, I often get messages like "omg what's your age and where are you from?" or "are you single?"
I think it's great for roleplay... And NO being married in a game dosen't means that the person needs to grow up.
I know in-game married people. In reality, they are two men with a family and they aren't in love together at all - it's just their rp. I don't think they've cyber either...
I am myself married ig with my boyfriend, we have a life, we don't live together but we can go to other's home easily, we don't need to cyber. It's just that we like our characters to be together, and we have other ones that aren't married...
If you don't want to get married ig, it's just like irl : just don't do it and let other people do their choice...

I'm fully aware. I just wanted you to say it so I could tell you that it's a wrong estimate with no evidence to support it. Not that you have any idea what I just said, but still.

Quote from GAILE
When players ask me about marriage, I used to answer "You're free to marry, as you wish" but they really were asking about our supporting marriage, with things like NPCs, locations, maybe wedding clothes, etc. Those things will not be offered in Guild Wars, and, like auction houses, will be considered for Guild Wars 2. --Gaile 12:04, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

1st hosted wedding took place in GW back in 2004
see official site
http://www.guildwars.com/events/inga...ingintyria.php
Wedding in Tyria
The Guild Wars World Preview Event, which took place on the last weekend of October, 2004, represented just the second weekend that the game had been “live” to players outside of the closed Alpha test. Not even a week old, the world of Tyria was ready for its first wedding.
The first nuptials of the Guild Wars world took place on the southern shores of Lion's Arch, just outside Merchant's Row. Tami Foote, ArenaNet level artist, and her fiancé, Joe Perreault, pronounced their undying love and were bound in holy matrimony at approximately 2:00 PM Pacific Time. The ceremony took place on Saturday, the 30th of October, 2004, in District 127 of Lion's Arch.
Many members of the ArenaNet Dev Team came to bear witness to the blessed event. Jeff Strain, John Zipperer, Dave Beetlestone (AKA: Boca Chicka), Austin Spafford, Lewis Mohr, Jess Lebow, James Phinney (AKA: Alita Haxor), Katy Hargrove (AKA: Green Go), Billy Arnold (AKA: Nothing Selected), Chris Chung (AKA: Melee Boss), and Darrin Claypool all were in attendance. About half of them were at the ArenaNet offices during the ceremony, while the other half joined from home.
Says Tami of the couple’s decision to wed in Tyria, "We've all put so much of ourselves into the Guild Wars world, I couldn't think of any better place to have our wedding."
Jess Lebow, World Designer and spiritual counselor for ArenaNet, presided over the wedding, administering the vows.
"It was a wonderful day for a beachside ceremony," said Reverend Lebow. "You couldn't have asked for better weather."
At the end of the ceremony, Tami and Joe traded Monk skill rings, symbolizing their eternal commitment to each other. We at ArenaNet wish the newlyweds the best of luck in their new life together.
so wouldnt suprise me if ther are some knid of marriages in GW2

Yeah, because every one wants to see a bunch of ignorant kids spamming in leet and saying "OMG GET A GF!!" during a role playing game. People act as if they're forced to marry the first person they see...

Wow...I sure am going to stand out now...
IMO to me it sounds like a decent idea. By that I mean though that of course the wedding wouldn't be SERIOUS (I mean hey...every girl wants a REAL wedding c'mon!)but just something fun to do and invite others to. Creepy people aside I think that it could possibly be even cute if a genuine couple were to have one.
But erm yes, I'd like an auction house as well.

meh...they should concentrate on more important things...you can RP your own marriages...there's no need for an in game system.
But more importantly. What does this have to do with GW:EN? This is the GW:EN Forum...solely for the discussion of GW:EN...this is not the place to discuss GW2 features.
