Actually its more likely a Dervish rushing into 2 groups of necro and melee/ranger mobs and calling you a noob because you didnt keep him alive. Too many seem to think they are invincible with a sythe and vital boon.

PuG
Related to drupal's post and the OP:
I still LOVE pugs!
Fun: I used to play Orders necro in Tombs B/P PuG teams a lot.
Reasons: It's still a lot of fun to PuG around and also good for your friends list. Improving builds is also fun to do.
Thrill: Recovery from almost whipe when someone makes a mistake
Rewards: Besides the fun and some drops, I joined my current guild after a couple of runs with some of them. Meeting new friends and probably a new (and better) guild is one of the best rewards for playing PuG.
The most rewarding 'PuG' moment we as guild had recently was at a HM mission at Ice Caves.
We invited some random people in our team of 3 guildies.
One started complaining about how difficult it is to find HM players.
We were having some fun chatting in the team while sorting skills, so we just mentioned in a kind of joke way 'You can always join a HM guild'.
And he responded 'Are there any?', thinking we were joking with him.
I hope he's happy with his new guildies

Big~Game Hunting in Gloom
when I want to do something leisurely, that I can do as long as I like, with no set goals other than a sense of achievement and time well spent, I go Big~Game Hunting in Gloom ..
~ by that, I mean solohunting Abyssals ... well, if fancy takes me (and opportunity) I will also go for other critters there ... but just as some people only hunt elephants, my favoured prey there is Abyssals
this is NOT the E/A or A/E farming that plagues those areas, I am a hunter not a farmer~!@
like real hunting, this requires patience .. and is not an efficient means of getting rich .. the best typical drops are lockpicks and those pretty green Torment Gems (not worth much now, tho I've been doing this since they were about the 20k mark, and I always got excited when they dropped - now it's, well a pleasant return but I don't do it for the loot).
the lure ~
http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/4...tormbowwh1.jpg
.. with my trusty StormBow
the chase ~
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/9466/thechasedh3.jpg
.. beastie is chasing me, that is~!
the kill ~
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1077/gw454go8.jpg
.. a CripDagger kill on one o these takes nerves o steel
another trophy

I just love pwning the biggest baddest melee monstie with my lil Sin
the wonderful thing about doing this, is there is no one set build to solo Abyssals, I have had success with pure Sin skills, A/E, A/Mes, and A/R .. any sorta melee hate works here ~
.. hope this inspires other to try it out

Personaly, I like coming up with unusual (useful, and less useful) builds for RA, such as:
A touch Necro who will sec himself to death before the opponent actually dies (less useeful).
Vampiric Aura Air spiker, Ele with maxed out Air and blood magic, actually works reasonably.
And the last one I'm gonna bother mentioning:
The Pacifist: Roll Mo/Ri and bring the skills:
Pacifism, Amity, Binding Chains, and whatever weird skills you'd like, simply annoy a warior or anyone who will not take damage for a while by keeping him completely useless for as long as you can (less useful, but very entertaining)
|
I do similar things, I love taking a build like a minion master, and using fast casting, the enemies get VERY surprised, I once played a fast cast smiter, that or playing 55 monk with Spoil Victor whenever RA has too many dervishes, or warriors .

Two suggestions:
FUN: Take out that big herd of Rampaging Ntouka in Sunward Marches
REASONS: Kick Ntouka butt
THRILL: See how fast you can kill them with no deaths and fewest possible heroes.
REWARDS: Next time you meet a Rampaging Ntouka in Kourna he'll hang his head in shame
FUN: Take out a Torment Claw in melee
REASONS: Challenge of skill (can be any profession, but you have to stand in melee range)
THRILL: Kill the easiest high level monster to kill in the whole game on their own terms. Kite their powerful slashes and survive their nasty hits.
REWARDS: Vastly increase the size of your Demonic Relic collection.

Two things I do for fun:
Fun: Helping Others
Reason: Helps me improve my builds, improve my game play, allows me to hopefully make new friends, helps pass the time
Thrill: Watching a simple mission explode into a dismall blood bath because of some accidental error in a PUG. Its fun to heal in a panic or save someone from a horde of Char/Titans/Grawl/etc.
Rewards: Self-improvement, friends, possible greens/good items, earn more gold from drops, passing the time.
Fun: Getting my Rit to achieve the most rewards I can (forgetting about Ascolon Pre-Seering)
Reason: Build improvement, caping, improve game play, passing the time
Thrill: caping, exploration, kicking monster butt
Rewards: caping, gold, items, better builds, more options on builds, getting more titles, passing the time.

Fun: ABing with guildies.
Reason: It's still PvP but you can be more relaxed and social.
Thrill: Laughing at 10 year old sins, coming back from near defeat.
Rewards: There's the faction I guess.
Fun: PvE Title Chasing
Reason: Every title is different, you can skill cap for a bit then vanquish then Explore, it's pretty varied.
Thrill: Watching my Maxed Title Track slowly tick up towards I'm Very Important (13/15 atm :P).
Rewards: Nice little words underneath your name.

Fun: Running around with a mandragor (take 1 spiked egg nog and 1 sugary sweet to increase fun level)
Reason: being like the Pied Piper
Thrill: You usually get 3-4 people who chase the mandragor
Rewards: work on your drunk/sweet tooth title

Big title chasing fan for the same reasons as Togira Ikonaka mentioned. This is something I do as a part of it when I get sick of something else:
Fun: Do the Djinn run that starts out by leaving Dzagonur Bastion to the SW
Reason: It's quick, easy, and picks me up after getting slaughtered by an ele sandstorm crag boss in the Poisned Outcrops or a stalemate with a griffon monk boss because I forgot to bring an appropriately built mes or derv; work on lightbringer points (elemental bounty right at the beginning); usually encounter three Vabbian chests to go towards treasure hunter, and one or two usually contain a gold for wisdom track; if it's been long enough the buried treasure should be back.
Thrill: Works on three title tracks at once; trying to improve time. Can be done with heroes and henchies (go with smaller party for better rewards).
Rewards: If you are opening all the chests, the monetary rewards are small seeing as you have to replenish your keys, but I have picked up a few great gold items and you will see you plat start to rake up after doing it for a while.
Overall, the only reason to do this is if you get sick of challenging things and want something easy that will still accomplish the things you were doing the challenging stuff for (albeit at a slower rate)
