Other stores like gameplay are giving out the pre-orders as part of the full release - you get the codes e-mailed to you at some point.

Anet has already stated that all the content gained in GW:EN during the preview will be available after the expansion is released and back online. Did no one read the site? :l
Direct quote says:
"Players who pre-order Guild Wars: Eye of the North will gain access to the Sneak Peek Weekend, August 24–26, 2007, where they will be able to log into the game for a first look at Eye of the North. Players will be able to explore the Far Shiverpeaks region of the world, home of the barbaric Norn. Everything players obtain during the Sneak Peek Weekend, including items, XP, Heroes, and loot, will be permanent and available when the expansion goes live."

Why are people complaining about a sneak peak that allows us to keep stuff we find?
The earlier "previews" were all garbage compared to this opportunity!
And if you think the preview events help determine whether you buy the game or not:
a) you can still spend $5 to try out GWEN.
b) Factions preview was nothing like the horrible first half of the game stuck in the City. (shudder)
c) Nightfall gave no inkling to the mass deserts we would face after Istani.

Because some are just not happy unless they complain about something and more then half the time the answers they are looking for is right in front of them.

I have just one question,
WHO OR WHAT WILL GET TO KILL US ON THE LAST HOURS OF THE PREVIEW EVENT?
There was a big disappointment during the Nightfall preview event when nothing appeared thus breaking tradition. I strongly doubt ANET will not make the same mistake twice. Knowing this shall we expect a few destroyers? a large rolling ball of fire that instant kills? the Mursaat in their wrath? the Asura? (that would be funny)
As for items HERO's etc, I strongly suspect you will have those items locked for the following five days. That is nothing to complain about since it will be an incentive to buy the game and use the items you found or unlocked. SO IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT IT GROW UP.

Yes, we must be killed in some glorious fashion!
/me cracks tiny whip
You gonna doo eet! Kill us!
Here's an idea. The Raven from the preview. I think it was a Raven.
It just swoops down saying 'never more' and people are banished to the mists.
Or it can say 'up your hootie!'. That's from El Mundo Del Lundo.

It'd be classic if Gwen did it. She could even say something adorable like "Oops I did it again."
I'm still hoping for a giant rollerbeetle, though.

I don't have a credit card so I may have to find one to borrow should I not be able to source a pre-release pack.
There's also the point of me actually liking to have a physical thing.
