it's an expansion.
it's still the same game.
If you can run GW now, you don't have to change a thing.
(As Arkantos got the specs from the official guildwars site and if you check the NF min/rec system specs it's the same.)
(ofcourse the better you have the better it will be no matter what's recommended.)
(An oddity in their print: Recommended sound card for NF is Sound Blaster® X-FiTM series Sound Card and they printed just a 16-bit sound card for GWEN which supposedly has the newer battle sound thing and what nots. not huge I guess.)

If you can play nightfall, you should be able to play EotN

I expect that the requirements are the same as the rest of guild wars. They would have to be considering it's all part of one big game. There might be some enhanced effects though I'm sure you can turn down the graphics and make it run on whatever system you ran Guild Wars on originally.

GW:EN will have higher requirements than Nightfall. Some preview stated that especially older graphics cards will succumb and devs generally spoke of a higher load and better (best) use of the by now outdated GW engine.

Well... like in Kaineng City, some areas may require you to tune down a bit your graphics... but fear not.
If GW runs now, GW:EN will run too.

I'm sure my home PC is currently below the minimum spec for GW and it still runs with a little lag. The work PC has on-board graphics and it still runs it, lol. >.>
(Of course I'm using "runs" loosely)
However, I think GW:EotN needs to be appreciated, so a full upgrade is in order to enjoy the sights GW:EotN has instore. The fire effect in one of the preview videos looked pretty cool.

Agree, the System Specs for Factions is a bit higher than Prophecies, and Nighfall spec is higher than Factions. But if you can run Nightfall at a decent fps 30-60+ on high resolution setting, max detail etc. You should be able to run Eye of the North just fine, I love the new flame affect.
So basically, 2 ghz+ cpu, 1gb rams, mid range graphic card with 128-256mb will sort you out if you're not looking to max out every setting detail or stupidly high resolution.

Off topic (a little):
I noticed the fire effects in the Character Select screen are not working on my computer. I only see still "flames" (not moving). Anyone have any suggestions? Other fire in the others Chapters looks fine.

Well, for me, Kaineng City is the only place with 'high' specs.
I had no problem anywhere in Prophecies or Nightfall. I thing Nightfall was a bit tuned down, since its landscapes are more desertic and such, much like Ettin's Back or Crystal Desert.

Have you got that option turn off? Ah what was it call? hit F11 for graphic setting, the one right under Vsync. If it's off, turn it back on for all of the fancy effect. If your pc is not up to spec, your fps will drop, beware.

If you can run guild wars without a hitch right now I am positive that you can run Gw:en just fine. If you are having horrible glitch issues with your computer at the moment, they are moving to a new graphics engine for gwen, so you might have a few issues with it.

I thought they already did upgrade the engine a few weeks ago and we're already using it? When they released the enormous update that changed the login screen I saw a bunch of people reporting that there were new graphics effects and that certain things, like fire, looked much different than before that huge update.

There will be only MINOR changes to Guild Wars, just like with Nightfall and Factions being released.
So NO if you have a computer and you can run Guild Wars fine currently, your set.
If not, go to the Tech area on the forums and ask around for a good deal on video cards, or whatever else you might need.
