Anet might have already shown us her already, but we wouldnt realise it!!
But expecting her to be in the game, just because the game name happens to abreviate to GW:EN is wishfull thinking. That was just a very good marketting scheme by Anet.
We know she will apear, because Anet has pretty much said she will. Not because the game name is similar!

If you have not already done so, have a look at the latest trailer on www.guildwars.com.
If that is not the grown up Gwen at the end of the trailer, then I will eat my hat. (Well as I am a ranger I suppose technically I'll eat my mask LOL)
Her costume looks like a Ranger to me btw.

Fuzzy math. You forgot the 2 years that elapsed between the end of pre-searing and the first Tyrian mission. That puts her at ~16 if she was 8 in pre-sear.

they should make her a professionless hero in which we are able to choose what she ll be running , since shes still rather young it could be shes learning to be the master of all professions so later she can become SuperUberEliteist Gwen ... "master of her Domain"

I think all the ones up to the Asura (is that Vekk?) are heros. The Tengu could be an assassin hero. Gwen is seen in a second outfit (whereas the first one was rangerish this one screams mesmer) so its safe to assume she is an hero and that its one of her hero armors.
The middle of the 3 norns is probably the bear we see behind Jora (Same tattoo and an armor plate on stomach though not an exact match) and the other two norn are most likely NPCs. The other two things (the strange werewolf/goat/pig/bull whatever type creature and the plant) are most likely Eye of the Norths answer to common enemys.
Gwen,Jora,Pyre and the mysterious Necro girl are deffinetly going on my hero monument best looking heros yet IMO.
EDIT: Further proof Gwen is a mesmer. Take a look at her right hand. Can you see how her finger extends outwards? some professions models have traits such as the Necros having clawlike hands. Look at the Mesmer on the first picture (armors) and look at her right hand. All mesmer models are like this. So shes deffinetly using the Mesmer model. (Female Paragons also have a finger extending outwards but the other fingers are grasped inwards unlike the Mesmer)

I noticed this myself and commented in another thread too.
If she is a Hero, then she must be multi-professioned as the two costumes she has been seen in are Ranger and Ele or Mesmer. No other hero has armour that looks to be outside of its class.

I'm wondering if they gave her the rangerish costume to appear like a sort of rebel. I would not of taken that scene too seriously if she was in a dress but the way she entered (looking liek the leader of those soldiers) fit perfectly with the way she was dressed. Ether way we will find out in a month.

I can only hope you get her as a hero... please god don't make her into a Rurik wannabe. I hate that useless RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO after he screwed up Surmia HM by dieing on a path i'd cleared!

Oh, man! While it was fun keeping Rurik alive in easy mode, I can't imagine what a pain in the ass he would be in hard!
On Topic:
YES, please make Gwen a hero. People callign Hero's "useless" and "incompetent" makes no sense - they can only be incompetent and useless if you let them be!
If she's just another NPC leading you through Eye of the North, I'll be very disappointed. I hate NPCs stealing the show away from my character anyway...

The shot of her in game shows her with a Mesmer offhand.

I doubt it. In Factions and Nightfall there were single leading characters taking us through the game. For EotN it sounds like the beacon of leading character is passed from one person to another.
I'm betting Jora is the leader for the Norns part,Gwen for the Vanguards part,Pyre for the Charrs part and Vekk for the Asuras part. So with the final conclusion it would make sense all these leaders join your party as you progress........making them the Heros of EotN.

I can see it now. *sings* SWEET 16! *endsing* o dear god.
Well now, lets look at the clues on what gwens new profession is going to be. She healed in pre sear. she lit e1 on fire in the beta like the demonic child she is. She wants to be a warrior. Her armor looks mesmerish and she likes the way they look apparantly. Im saying she's going to be a warrior but has silk outfit on. But then again...maybe she is going to be a mesmer. A-Net IS trying to bring back the mesmer class into more popularity.
tell me if i missed any clues (i probably did) and tell me what u think her profession might be based on these clues.

6 years is counting the time between the searing and the attack at the northen wall.

So its set exactly a year after Nightfall which was set 5 years after the searing. I would say based on her EotN appearence Gwen was about 10 or 12 in Pre Searing Ascalon.

A clue? shes using the Mesmer Model
If Gwen isnt a hero the solution is simple. We take the Asura Empire hostage until Anet make her a hero

well if she goes from 8 to 16 I wonder how old it would make our tyrian characters in the storyline /ponder
and if she has a mesmer offhand *didn't notice* shes most likely a mesmer like what happened with master of whispers in nightfall mind you he did look suspiciously necromancery anyway...
anyway after watching that trailer I got pretty hyped =D just err...42 days to go?

Indeed. I'm a bit surprised they did'nt make her a Pyro Ele. ...And note that the little hellion does'nt have that damn cape I went to the trouble of getting her. Probably sold it and used the money to buy fireworks...!@#$?!! little fire bug..
(seriously, though..I hope they made her a hero and not a Rurik/Togo, type spaz..)
