Ah as was said countless time this game was designed for pre-existing lvl 20 characters, most likey with heroes, why are we fighting lvl 7s,11s, 17s ect? It just seems kinda strange to me, given they are at the begining and I hvnt made it all the way to the end of the preview, will we actually fight enemies our lvl?

Further support that some people should quit GW if they hate it so much. As far as I can see there wasn't a complaint as much as a personal opinion.

How do use the switch?
Start
Run
Type the following
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
Click OK
Wait for all the files to download at one time
No longer wait to laod areas in GWEN. =)

This may or may not be good. Just make sure you consider your bandwith! I have all 3 games and a T1 to download on. When I used this switch it loaded 58000+ files. I calculate it will take me about an hour to finish downloading (still in progress now)
Also consider that those files have to be served by (more than likely) the same servers that are trying to push the GW:EN zones to new players. I guarantee that those servers are under heavy load right now. In such a scenario it's more network aware of you to just load a zone at a time, thus "sipping" at the server's available bandwith that is required to push the files to your client.
This approach you suggest would bring the servers down if everyone were to try it within a relatively same time period. While it may be convenient from a Party forming perspective, it borders on misbehavior as far as being socially aware or network savy.
So choose wizely!

Good post and a nice heads up. A little patience with the downloads, instead of instant gratification, will be good for all of us.

I bet it pretty much balances out. Even if people use -image, there will still be a large number not using it, and you will still have a lot of people "sipping" at the same time.

I have to say, for first impressions this expansion kicks some serious a** so far. The atmosphere, the music in the caverns under LA, the boxing was fun as hell, the henchmen actually chat with each other in the outposts now, that was a nice touch. Cripes I had to force myself to go to bed at 4am last night so I'd be able to come to work this morning
Oh the rabbits..... those horrible rabbits!!!!!! I mean, I figured it was a trap but..... it was sooo cute..... even when it was chewing on my face at the end of a party wipe
My only gripe so far, talking to Gwen inside the hall of monuments. All the NPC's actually speak something when you click on them now. Unfortunately, they also say it every time you hit a submenu while talking to them and only have like one like like "can I help you?". So while quickly going through her submenus, Gwen just kept saying "can I help you? can I help you? can I help you?" over and over and over and over..... it was like chatting with a broken record and her voice started getting annoying >_<

Hello ;0
This is some Screens I took for those who can't get in to GW:EN due to work and whatnot
not rly spectacular but..umm.. hope this help pleasing anyone there.
CAPTION:
326: I am not sure it is suppose to be there for those who aren't pre order, but I attach it anyway
328 : Those are the size of the Norn's bear transformation.. and look at the club size..
340: well you all know.. but this is more "emphasized(sp?)" scene.
337: That is the rank you got after slaying certain number of foes. Don't forget to talk to different rez shrine NPC. At first they will become hostile if u choose the 1st choice after you talk to them, but afterwards they will give some Norn points.
If you did not talk to any rez shrine NPC after killing some foes, they won't give you any bonuses/party hunting rank. The bonuses you will get everytime after 25 kills. it is random, from health+ ~ time attack (kill 10 foes under 1 mins to get 200 points). Never tested another but highest for me is rank 4 party hunting.. I ran out rez NPC and foes D:
335: Those Norn NPCs at rez shrine I mentioned earlier, transformed.
This is for now, will post Rabbit hell hole and other fun stuff after I wake up later

It is also a good idea to have all windows closed nothing minimized and download it from desktop. It didn't take me long to download it although I can't play it as I don't have prerelease.I don't want to get it from the online store and for those that are having a hard time loading new areas close any other programs running.Nothing minimized and it doesn't matter how much ram you have.

Maybe because there are none available in the preview weekend. xD
Thats what I'm guessing... cause if there was everyone would be wearing "Magma Gloves" and such. I'm not playing the game so I'm not sure. =o

For future reference, if you want to download something new all at once for GW just:
1. Right click on your Guild Wars desktop icon.
2. Click "Properties".
3. Make sure you are on the "Shortcut" tab.
4. In the "Target" make one space after "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" and type -image ["C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image].
5. Hit "Apply" then "OK".
6. Double click your GW desktop icon and let it download everything you don't have already downloaded for Guild Wars.
7. Once it is done, do the same as above to remove "-image" so it is just "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" again.
8. Open up the game and play download free.
Saves a lot of time. I do it about once a month.

Nice wee guide. I'd like to emphasize that there's a space between ...GW.exe and -image.
The first time I did it (ages ago) I wasn't putting in the space and it obviously didn't work out. Perhaps it's just me that's the tard but this info might just help someone.
