IT would be incredibly retarded if they didn't make weapons inscribable in GWEN. What would have been the point of the inscribing system in the first place if it was for only one section of the game.

but If it really counted, I would say "no", due to the fact that I wouldnt mind new items actually going back to the standard of being "rare" again. Not just the skin but the (inherent) stats as well.
/g'day.

I hope they are inscribable, I've been able to use less greens and more golds in Nightfall then the other chapters.

God, noone remember the developer interview? They said they had plans for doing it back then, the same interview in which they spoke of Insignias on GWP and GWF armors. And we got that.
They said they wanted to add it to all weapons, even from GWP and GWF, however they were not gonna add it retroactively.

I don't see why they shouldn't be inscribed. So your purples are worth something? Bah, grapes weren't worth anything anyway, unless it was a crys or something. And this way, all your gold 14^50's can be modded up and sold rather than being worthless merch fodder.

Ignorance...
1. Farming sucks. (Unless referring to unnerfed UW farming in 05).
2. Plenty of people are rich and have full time jobs + families.
3. Heck the wealthiest people are usually those with full time job, grown up and have plenty of responsibilties.
4. If you have an ounce of intelligence there would have been little grind.
5. There was never a problem with casual players owning usable cool looking skins pre-inscription system.
They are going to be added to no point me whining about them.

More like free time to spend trading and pocketing a percentage. That's where almost all the big GW fortunes came from after all.
Inscriptions are better for farming and playing, no inscriptions is better for power traders. Draw your lines with your interests and go at it.

Being that the inscription system was highly popular, the devs will probably do the same for EotN. The interesting thing here is that because the EotN map is connected to the Tyrian one, perhaps it will be a global change affecting both old-Tyria and Cantha. We'll see we're just a few days before the actual release :]

Let's all hope it does.
Also, why would you not want the weapons to have inscriptions? I see absolutely no problem with it.

Of course they will be. The amount of QQ if they go back to the old system would be huge.
I wish they wouldn't, as getting a gold drop means nothing these days.
Oh a gold, slap a 15^50 on it and sell it on...Zzzz
But the newer players have had their hands held too long now by Anet, they couldn't cope.

I know for a Fact the only Non-inscribable weapons will be Greens. Other then that I am going to say that weapons will be inscribable, there will not be some golds that are inscribable and some that are not because well its jsut more trouble and kinda pointless imo. I sit and watch the market...a lot..and after the 1st couple of months of NF I noticed everything from the existing chapters was cheaper because of inscriptions (obvious). Example- I bought a non perfect req 10 gold storm bow for 55k got mods for 10-15k then it was perfect, before inscriptions they were 100k +XX ectos same with fellblades they just took a little longer. I like the inscriptions because for the folks that don't play as much or can't play as much opens up the chance to get a good/desired looking weapon with out 100+ hrs of grinding to get one. I am however against it because one I started in proph and well the market was more stable. The market started down hill when Factions came out mainly because of mini pets. The weapon market of course was ruined when NF came out and from a seller/buyers perspective it sucked. Now days the only things that really sells an inscribable item (which is every weapon) is the lettering (Gold being the most, then purple), the req and if it is like super rare(crystalline, elemental sword, serpant axe) other then those three factors the item has really no value in its self. So to sum this up I would like to see inscriptions because it makes it more of a "fair" game and have many more options for reasonable/useful costomization, but then again no inscriptions would probably regulate the market more (even though its all fraked up from inscriptions and Mini Pets).

Inscriptions are much nicer when you have a billion heroes to equip...and don't want to go out and get greens/collectors.

And let's not even start with the abomination that caster weapons were. You were lucky if all the mods were for the same profession, let alone attribute...

The rarity of a weapon should depend on how hard is to kill the enemy that drops it, the rarity of the skin and the particular stats of the type of weapon.
Nothing else.
Inscriptions help a lot with that.
All swords have damage and req.
All staves have energy, damage and recharge.
All hornbows have 10% penetration.
But not all swords have +15% damage or +5 energy.
Variable modifiers should be variable. Fixed properties should remain fixed. That's what inscriptions make.
Sooner or later inscriptions will be worldwide, one way or another...
...I'm gona get you...

Hmm, well perhaps the value of inscribable items would be better off if they only appeared occasionally, and rarely on the new skins, as there will surely be new skins that are highly saught after, like the Colossal Scimitar when NF was released. That way rare items would stay rare, and not get their rarity diluted; like the Colossal Scimitar.
I'd really hate it if GwEn's economy went down the tubes becauseof inscription, but then again it could (and has/is) happening the other way around.
Balance ftw.

Of course they should be inscribable. Reason: caster items and shields. 'Nuff said.
