According to next weeks BB ad (8/26-9/1) Guild wars is listed on sale for 29.99 for that week only (both instore and online). Of course it could always be a price mistake, but having a early hard copy of the ad, it is what it is.

Actually topdragon u MIGHT be close to the truth...just got word that it may be a mistake and suppose to be advertised as original gw (on the ad it shows the gwen box but under it says guild wars). Ill see what BB does and keep this topic updated.

This may be in reference to the ORIGINAL Guild Wars so that new customers can buy GW:EN along with it (separately, since you NEED a stand-alone GW game in order to play the expansion).

But... if all they show is the gwen box art maybe you can try and pass it along through a dumb cashier and make them believe it is $29.99, and they'll just price override it for you.

However, I'm not saying that it may not be a price mistake because I need to see the ad in front of me to be sure.

This doesnt surprise me, it seems lately stores are begining to compete against each other and sell newly release games for reduced prices. I just recently bought Bioshock(AWESOME GAME BTW) at circut city for 50$ even though everywhere else such as BB and GS have it for 60$. Seems games are begining to loose their value?

No its not that they are loosing their value....its called marketing.

They offer it cheaper than the competition to ensure that you go to them instead of somewhere else...they make up for the slight loss by out selling their rivals.

*update* got some answers after asking around and looks like it WAS a mistake caught early. Supposively the final copies show the original gw box and says guild wars for the item description. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up but looks like (as of right now) 40 is gonna be the standard price with no shortcuts. I do know CC and target will be 40 dollars also, but come sunday I can check around for a few other stores and see if I can find anything.

Best Buy will sell Bioshock for $49.99, not $60. Plus, you get a $10 GC if you purchase a second PC game with it. Don't know which BB you're talking about, but here take a look at next week's ad:
