It is hard for me to believe that Anet would develop a title that would require this sort of exploit to max. I plan to keep looking.

My guess is that those Sunspears who have the empty dialog boxes will eventually direct us to the next step similar to what happened on the Lightbringer progression with the Chantry.

There WILL be a way to max this title for those of us that have already reached rank 8. If there isn't a way then its seriously stupid of Anet to even have this title available, what if someone was at 14,999 then got err7 = angry gamers.

I find it hard to believe that this exploit is the only way to earn the title.
This will be the third title that is screwed up for me in NF.
Cartographer is a royal pain since certain areas change after certain points in the game, elite skill hunting is gonna be extremly hard since certain bosses only spawn during certain quests. And now there is a title that can't even be maxed out unless you chose to exploite it before you reach R8.

I personally think it is time that ANet comes out of hiding and says something about this. This discussion is taking place in many forums and it seems that they are ignoring the issue.
All I am asking for is "This is a bug and we are working on it",
"We know there is no legitimate way to earn this title right now, stay tuned for more news",
or even "Yes there is a legitimate way to earn this title, try looking harder!".
I don't need specifics, just an answer pointing me in the right direction.

C'mon Gaile, we know you can sweet talk those guys into letting you tell us something!

well just went for a spearmarshal run and it took 80 minutes to gain 8k sunspear points with a party of 4 players and four hench. Once you get the location down and know exactly which four mobs 2 aggro, what to cast put on your heroes, how to play it, it is the easiest title to max ever.

I have tried to verify your claim that you can get points by hiking with someone that can still get them both in the Crystal Overlook and in many other maps, and got no results.
This is not to say that I don't believe you, I have heard stranger things, however, if you did see this at work, it is most likely a combination of other factors.

If you have the blessing, you can still get points from things that you do not kill, and even from things that are FAR out of compass range, on the other side of the map, so they are given to everyone. Also, there was at one point some bug about having multiple blessings in the first days. One of my guildies reported the third blessing having no effect, while for me it was the second. There could be some glitch out there that with the right combination of blessings, in the right order would allow you to keep earning points.

If you could remember any other deatils such as what gate you came from, what blessingfs were taken, if you were doing some quest and so on, it could provide useful.

Cmon you can't say that and not tell us which...Please say which Area you used, which mobs, what u do with heroes. It's not a bad thing to help others, in fact, many see it as a good thing.

Perhaps it is easy to master ( I think Prot of Cantha is easier personally ) But it does require you to know of the exploit before you reach R8, and that's the real kicker.

She says it pretty plainly that following the big update (which will add the Elite mission or whatever new content she's talking about) there will be a normal way to earn Spearmarshall.

The implication of course is that the title will be some sort of requirement for entrance.

the big update will take months to come out so really people wanting to get KoaBD with 4 others title maxed missed the easy way out

i just hope they fix the numerous quest bugs that people are reporting (and im sure some elite skills arent in the game or quest-only) before that update

It's kind of stupid to have a title locked just because they didn't get their content delivered on time. Unfortunately for me, Guild Wars in all its glory decided to hard reboot my computer while I was killing rezzing mobs. Now I'm stuck at R8 with a vast majority of GW. Other than that, I still don't understand why they can't let you max out a title if it has no effect on the game yet?

I was hoping to get my 5th title for KOABD too.

so r7 res method still works? cos lightbringer method is nerfed with updated.

i got r8 on the 2nd day of nightfall

now i cant get more points until they fix it. (i.e. allow a way to earn points)

edit:
i just hope anet will allow us to max the sunspear title with something reasonable so ppl can get em if they want to.
there r enough impossible titles alrdy.. (pvp ones, allegiance, lucky/unlucky, etc) /cough
