So I took the tapestry shred, preserved red iris flower, broken flute and normal red iris flower to Gwen in the HoM and she had no new text, so I loaded her into my party and went to her "secret place" and she just gave that normal string of why she built it.

Wasn't she supposed to say stuff if you had these items on you?

Incorrect, someone mentioned it on these boards and after a little search on the wiki I found this:

Well, I now know what my first priority will be. Ebon Vanguard title track, here I come!!

Gwen is like, the most awesome thing in Guild Wars

And it will be nice to know that all the artifacts from her will be of some use besides being collecting

may gwen suffers from amnesia after GW:EN is launched officially..maybe due to severe trauma..

and yea, gwen is one of the best characters that anet designs..
