Ok so GWEN came and went, what shall we nerf?
So we played the preview and obviously so much is overpowered nerfs all across the board are needed to balance things. So what are your thoughts on nerfs needed?
The first one I have is no more than two of the same henchman. Seeing people with three searing flames eles, them being a searing flame ele, and taking Cynn seems to be FAR too overpowered to me.
Another thing that is overpowered is the innate advantages titles grant. The Norm title should give 1 to 5 extra health per rank, not start at 60. Starting at 60 means you can add a second sup rune to your armor.
Finally the norm title track is far too fast to get points in. Two days I hit rank 4 without even trying. Got rank 2 in the dwarf one through just casual play as play well. The number per rank should at least be increased 5 fold so they mean something.

I want them to make M. Bison harder to kill, instead of being so predictable.

the lower ranks are easier to get because they dont want to force to much grinding on you, that should stay the same

I think people should get their accounts banned for a few days for having more than three ele's in their party. This is obviously an exploit that they are abusing.
Also I feel the norn title track should give no bonuses because that is unfair. I don't like snow and I am therefore afraid of going into the far shiverpeaks. I had to get my brother to play half of prophecies for me because of that.

Searing Flames has been pseudo-nerfed due to the main enemies being immune to burning and having huge armor vs fire. These kinds of team builds aren't overpowered except to steamroll everything before the Destroyers.

Norn bonuses apply in Norn land ONLY. NOT in undergrounds areas. ONLY in Norn explorables.
In Nrmal mode may be a bit cheap, but in hard mode will be not too much.
Easy to get? No. The first ranks are easy. Rank 8 is 80k points.
This game is not meant for players with 1 character and 9 mules.
There are people who likes to play the game with all professions.
They are perfectly fine as they are.

I stopped reading after that. If you are using 1 Sup...let alone 2....then perhaps you should spend less time complaining about the game, and more time learning how to play it.
EOTN doesn't need Title nerfs. It needs skill nerfs. Half of them are stupidly imba, and would ruin the game.

Actually, it does apply in underground areas, at least ones connected to Norn lands.

I did this just for a laugh, I actually found it inferior to my normal setup...it has killing power, but that is about it.

And the other half will never see play, which seems like thats the main goal anyway, 50 usable skills, 2000 crap skills.

(This is probably the wrong forum, but here goes...) Many of the PvE skills are too strong and make everything stupidly easy. I want to see the following skills toned down.
- "By Ural's Hammer!"
Quote:
Shout. For each ally within earshot who is under 50% health, you have 5...10 seconds of +2 health regeneration and do +25% more damage. (5e, 30r)
|
This works on all allies, including minions, spirits, etc. Having just 5 allies below 50% is easy with a minion bomber and a Shelter/Union/Displacement spammer, and you have a perma +10 regen and more than double damage. It should be changed to work on party members only.
- "Dodge This!"
Quote:
Shout. For 12...20 seconds, your next attack cannot be blocked and does +10...20 damage. (4ad)
|
All hits in the same attack are unblockable in this shout. Imagine using this with Cyclone Axe, Triple Chop, or Hundred Blades. In fact, with Barrage, it is infinitely spammable. It should be changed to affect only the first hit of the next attack like for Ghostly Weapon.
- Dwarven Stability
Quote:
Enchantment Spell. For 20...30 seconds, your Stances last 30...100% longer. If you activated this Skill while drunk, you cannot be knocked down. (4e, 1/4a, 30r)
|
Welcome to perma Serpent's Quickness and Flashing Blades, not to mention near immunity to knockdowns. The recharge should be doubled.
- "Finish Him!"
Quote:
Shout. If target foe has less than 50% Health, that foe takes 20...80 damage and suffers from Cracked Armor and a Deep Wound for 5...20 seconds. (10e, 15r)
|
Way too synergistic with Body Shot. You gain 9 - 3 = 6 energy back, meaning you inflict deep wound, cracked armor and almost 100 armor ignoring damage for a mere 4 energy. I can't imagine this skill ever leaving my ranger's bar. Suggest making it 15e at least.

The thing that needs to be nerfed the most is the bitching itself.
Yes, I realize fully that the above comment can be also taken as bitching.
Deal with it.

why need to nerf those pve-only skills ????
even if they're over power they wouldn't affect any players around , aint they ????
so stop the bitching

I use 2 sups.
The ability to cast 1 more skill at the beginning of a fight before having to use e-management, or taking 1 more hit before having to be healed at the beginning of a fight, in a PVE battle isn't that much of an advantage to me as being able to damage/heal/e-manage/mitigate better during the entire battle.
Edit: It's more about this....how often do PVE enemies co-ordinate damage/e-denial spikes? That would be the real benefit to having a higher max health/energy.
So on my character I usually have 2 superior attribute runes, 1 superior vigor rune, 2 attunements, and all insignias +AL, unless a specific area requires otherwise.

Troo dat, yo. I noticed this as well.
Also, with all the knockdowns in GWEN, it's mighty hard to cast a damn thing unless perfectly timed.

I dont really care about the PVE skills, but the one skill that will be imba is Earthen Shackles (90% slow while burning).

5 fire Ellys is not overpowered and is in fact ridiculously stupid. A lot of AR 80 targets in NF only take around 30 damage from SF, having 4 x SF isnt really going to help a lot. For any decent overpowered build you need to mix damage types, not use the same one. And if enemies in GWEN are immune to burning, there goes my two most abused skills in NF, SF and ToF.

Well, it's kinda funny that there's any empassioned cries for nerfing when people haven't played through 10% of it yet. Bison doesn't need to be toughened, just possibly more balanced across all professions. Some are inately better equipt (my rit is certainly capable of mindlessly farming that arena whereas other characters take a lot more effort).
Maybe we'll find that the other questlines favor other specific professions and gear each profession towards a particular race. Maybe that has signifigance in GW2...
...and yeah...people who use a sup rune need to learn to play? I guess I'm still learning then

That's an interesting point. It's quite possible.
I wonder if any professions will have advantages for the other faction's solo quests.
Thank goodness we get to change our secondary professions.

Edit that to read "more time learning how to play it the way I tell you to play it." Who the hell are you to tell someone that they shouldn't even use ONE superior rune?
Back on topic ...... how about we at least wait until full release before we start swinging the nerf bat?
