I don't see why people have a problem with completely re-doing your character. It's the same deal with hairstyles. Taste changes, and you may eventually dislike the character you made a year or two ago.
"Plastic surgery" may not exactly be very realistic in terms of the game, but it is a game after all, and I don't think it's a problem to overlook certain things to make it more enjoyable. And if you're going to be that nitpicky about it, then technically we shouldn't be able to change our hairstyles or colour either, since that would be almost equally impossible back in those days.

Lol well your "Back in those days." argument is a pointless one seeing as "back in those days" you couldn't cast a fireball or summon undead minions either.... this is a fantasy game... peoples tastes changed yes so let them change hair, hair color, armor... etc. It just seems that growing 3 feet in one day would be a little bit more of a challenge than say... combing your hair to the left tomorrow. Ultimately I could care less if everyone else changes their characters ... anything, but to me it just seems a bit off the deep end to let a person change their ethnicity, skin tone, height. To me its really not the same thing... oh well Anet will make that decision for us.

Nah, just because they haven't said anything doesn't mean there will be no hairstylist and they won't say so because they don't want to hurt sales. Remember how they never said anything definite about dye previewing and then poof, when Nightfall was released we got a dye preview? It was a nice surprise and they seem to like giving us nice surprises without announcing it.
The only reactions I have seen ANet have to hairstylists are that they like the idea, they are not sure whether or not one will be added to the game, and that contrary to how easy it would seem to implement it is not easy to do so don't be upset that it hasn't been added. That would seem to indicate that they like the idea to the point where they at least tried to see how much work it would take to change hairstyles or colors, which is a good sign if you think about it. They have said that for sure we are not getting an auction house ever in GW1, and that made a lot of people unhappy, so I'm sure if we weren't ever getting a hairstylist for sure they would have broken the bad news to us about that too by now.
Now, think of the pictures posted where there is a character who has a face from one campaign and hair from another campaign. That really seems to indicate there's going to be a way to change hair. I'm guessing they're going to make it available to all guild wars players in all campaigns, like they did with the dye preview, or it could be that they're going to make a hairdresser a GW:EN exclusive NPC. If the hairdresser is exclusive to GW:EN we might see the hairdresser during the preview this weekend. If the hairdresser is going to be available in all campaigns, expect to see it arrive with the huge update that rolls out on the 31st of this month. The odds are relatively favorable that there will be a hairdresser or something along those lines, we just have to wait and see a little longer

For some reason I get this picture of a an Elementalist in Pyromancer armor with a big line formed in front of him. He poofs people with a fireball, they get a tan, and then the Ele yells "NEXT!" Probably not what you meant I bet.
Personally I'm not expecting a hairstylist, at least not on the 31st with the release of GW:EN. But I'm hopeful there will be one in the future.

It's awesome that this is the most active thread on this board.
It's sad that the second most active thread is the one about Jora's boobs.

Just goes to show you how vain we are if our 2 most active threads are about Hairstylists and Boobs haha.
Like my motto in GW...
"It's not about Win or Lose, It's how you look playing the game!" ^_^
::
Player1: Aww, he died. Can someone rez him?
Player2: But he's such a pretty corpse ^_^ - just look at that hair!
and thus ushers in a new necro PvE skill - Consume Scalp ^_^

I agree with you that "Plastic Surgery" isn't all that related to Guild Wars; however, spell casters are related to Guild Wars so why not have a "Dark Caster" with the ability to shape-shift other peoples appearances for the right price? Good idea or bad idea...I'm not sure so you tell me please.
Though I will /sign for the hairstylist NPC...if we had that just a couple months ago I wouldn't have deleted my Warrior just to get the Nightfall hair. R.I.P. dear old Prophecies Warrior.

I would love to have a hair/facial changing NPC. I'm one of the many people that loves some of the newer character creation options when Faction / Nightfall came out, but many of my character were already made in Proph.
For those people with the "real life" nonsense or whatnot... There's a show called "Dr.90210", ffs.

I would hope if they did give us the ability to change our character's hair that they'd give us more color options. I myself do not ascribe to 'normal' hair colors (blonde, brown, auburn, etc.) in real life so why should my character? This is a videogame. Give us colors!
I was very sad when I bought factions only to find out that my assassin couldn't actually have purple hair

If there were a hairstylist NPC...I would waste so much gold. I think it should be an option though. Most online games nowadays have some kind of way to change your character's appearance.

Well... to play Devil's Advocate, your life is a heck of a lot easier than your character's, and you have the luxury to worry about things like the color of your hair.

If you dont like the hair you could always put a helm on (for warrior or dervs) as for the others..well just gonna have to deal with it... until Anet fulfills a useless cry for help by mistakes from the players if they ever do.

Excuse me? You can't be serious?
First of all,we all have paid for the game. We have rights as customers. OK, those rights have been well satisfied so far. But, we also have the right to ask for improvements on the product. And I am 100% sure that ANet is willing to hear good improvement ideas.
We, the customers, pay for the game so they can develope it. If ANet wouldn't have any customers they would be unemployed very soon. They want to improve the game to keep the customers in and buying the expansions.
So, if ANet would really think of us like you say they wouldn't have anyone else playing than you.
And apparently, reading your post, you haven't spent too much in the game yet as you think it is so easy to ditch a character.

Oh yes, like ZOMG, My ele is having such a bad hair day. Please dont fix anything wrong with this game, but yet concentrate all your resources on my ele because her hairstyle just isnt working right with her most recent outfit, but like ZOMG i havz to hav that other hairstyle so it will flow with the little fringe on the bottom of her boots....
If this is the most important thing on peoples mind for this game, you all seriously need a clue.

not all of us spend our time in ascalon begging for gold, some of us actually have pretty much everything we want and can be picky

I never said some people didn't have things they wanted and decide to be picky. What i said is that there are much much MUCH more important things that should be addressed in this game first.
P.S. I lol'd at you thinking i spend my time in ascalon begging for gold. WTS you a clue.
