A-Net knows that this is probably the most requested feature by players, and they will, again, probably add it in some point. Whether that point is during GW1 or GW2, impossible to say.
But they definately know we want it, and they have been good in adding things players have requested. Hopefully they'll do so again.
And I'm talking about purely a "hair stylist" NPC here. I'm not too keen on changing the face or physical features either.

How about we kill off all the hair stylists in real life? I mean why change your looks in real life?
yeah...joking...
I see no problem with a hair stylist...I've remade characters to get a different look...I don't see why we can't change our look mid game without remaking our character...just like real life.
People want to pretend this is like the survivor title...where there really are consequences to being able to reset your death count mid game...but really...what harm would come to making it possible to change your looks after you've made your character. As long as certain things are locked in such as your height and gender...I see no reason why you couldn't change your looks. It adds realism to the game...you can change your looks in real life within reason (even height and gender, but we shouldn't get into that...that's going a little far for a game)...why not in game?
I like the idea of a hairstylist tome or whatever. Make it drop as often as oh...scrolls to FoW and UW. Rare but not insanely rare.

strange...my post didn't show up...even though it says I was the last to post...edit: well there it is...wouldn't show up until I posted again...something's funky...that's not the first time that has happened.
don't see why we can't get a hair stylist...change your looks just like you do in real life...not like it would harm anything....not like resetting death count so people can try for survivor.

Yes your right. I'll just go delete my 2 year old Ranger and get him ran through the game, gain all my titles back and complete all 3 campaigns again. Then theres my lost armor - no worries that will be easy. And leveling? well i'll just go power level. All to get myself a new hairstyle because lets face it - if we add hair stylists to Guild Wars it will automaticly turn into Runescape.

I most likely doubt they will add this feature, because they give you this option of "hair styles/stylists" when you 1st make a character. So if ya don't like your chars hair suck it up or make a new version instead of gripeing why Anet should put in a hair stylist to fix things you don't like about you char, when you had the choice to choose in the first place, personally I think it would be dumb, just another NPC waste of space as I see it,and if they do this you know someone will want to change their chars face (aka plastic surgery in r/l),skin color(aka tanning in r/l),or size (working out or dieting in r/l),its just a game folks its there to play not to change your chars, if you want to change your char go play the SIMS. And folks should have thought bout their character and what they will have (Titles,Armor, and Weapons[costomized]) Anet didn't tell you to do all of that so its on you and its your choice what you do with your chars. So please don't complicate this game even more with wasteful space NPCs, we don't need more people thinking their character in the game is them in r/l and have more issues on the news about how gaming is bad, which its not, its gooooood.

Dare I say your argument was the worst in the entire thread (read: really stupid). Hey, why don't we make it like Diablo where we can't pick our gender and our physical appearance since this isnt' real life and nobody cares about appearance or customization!

I support the addition of hair stylist 100% with the idea of tanning possibly included, but not body or facial reconstruction. Hair is fairly simple to change from a realism standpoint, however plastic surgery doesn't fit into Guild Wars' world.

No, it's been stated by numerous people, numerous times that this is the last add-on for GW1. There won't be any new campaigns/expansions. They'll just be adding content via updates to keep people interested most likely. And in terms of generating revenue during this time, people suspect that more will be added to the online store.
In regards to the topic, I'd love to see a stylist NPC. My Ritualist's hair is terribly boring, I'd like some new options. I doubt we'll see it added though.

I would love to see a hair stylist but I would probably only change my warrior since he only has a buzz atm. I want to give him some nice long hair and a big beard, he is old after a while.

This is my number one want in all of Guild Wars. Don't get me wrong; when I first made my characters, I was very careful to make sure that they had the best look I could come up with. But after a year or two, it just gets boring. It would be nice to try a few other hair styles out. Just the same as buying new armor, or getting a new weapon purely becuase of looks.
And, personally, I don't see any reason why not to add this. Other than the initial development effort of course. It's not like we're strapped for movement space in major towns. And I don't think anyone is going to get overly obbsessed with their characters just becuase they have the option to change their hair styles. And this is an online ROLEPLAYING game so it stands to reason that we can go to a hairstylist and change out hairstyles as much as we want, same as real life... Especially since it's something that in real life really takes very little effort to do. As opposed to getting a sword custom made, or traveling several thousands miles to get maximum level clothing.

1st of all you totally misunderstood, I NEVER said take away costomization just the fact of adding useless NPCs when you had the choice in the 1st to make them how you want your chartacter.Imo you really shouldn't open up your mouth and make your self seem really immature with the sarcasm but thats up to you. Anyway I stand with not adding useless NPCs to please everyones dumb mistakes when they can just make a new char or suck it up.
P.S. its just a game not r/l

And since it's a game and we play it for entertainment...aka fun...shouldn't the game facilitate that fun by providing a way to change basic options of our character so that we like the looks of our character without having to throw away all the progress of our character for 2+ years.

right...we can hurl fireballs at our foes...make meteors rain from the heavens...turn into the forms that represent the gods...and soon probably turn into bears as well....yet we can't rearrange our face a bit. Who said surgery had to be the way?

You're funny, because people who made Prophecy characters before Factions and Nightfall came out, didn't have any idea what GW had in store for them. So that "1st" choice you're talking about, isn't even really a first choice, it was a limited choice that many people wish to rethink now that the limitations have been extended. I see no valid argument on your side, you're simply saying something with no negative effects (besides INCREDIBLY MINOR server strain) shouldn't be added because in your OPINION a new NPC would annoy you?
When I think of a Hairstylist I think of 2 things, haircuts and hair dyes, nothing more. No face changes, no skin tone changes, eye tones, anything like that. (Even though some necromancer scar patterns change the necromancer's eye color). So technically we're asking for less then whats already been implemented into the game via the armor system, for changing your character's appearance that is.
But hey, even if we turn this into a polled opinion war, just reread this thread top to bottom, I think you can see that it'd be an overwhelming decision to introduce hairstylists.

I'd personally love for my Warrior of two years to grow a beard, signifying both his age and his dealings with the Norn.
I know it seems like a trivial feature to add to GW, but I could see a method of tweaking your appearance adding a bit more depth to the continuity of your characters. I don't understand why anyone would say "NO, don't give me another feature." If you think people should deal with the appearance of their original character, then you should be able to deal with an additional NPC in a town.
"Hair Stylist" is a bit hokey for an NPC, though. I'd prefer something like "Barber", and with his own tent.

i understand why a hairdresser can be complicated to program if the game is alredy programed a certain way..... but heres an idea....
WIGGS!
i mean, we can hide our head with helms.... why not make helms (with stats and stuff, like part of armor, but more expensive then 15k maby?) that look like hair styles?

People have a choice to make new chars if they please why should Anet staisfy every little petty plee for useless NPCs when people can play the game and make a new char instead of wasteing time asking Anet to worry about useless NPCs when they could use what little time it would take probably, to make such a NPC when there is alerady a system in place to get new hair.So suck it up or make a new char ez as that. As much as I have thought it would be cool to have my chars change over time (by age or NPCs)it is just a char and I have made new chars to get a new hair skin and body its not hard. If you dont like the hair you could always put a helm on (for warrior or dervs) as for the others..well just gonna have to deal with it... until Anet fulfills a useless cry for help by mistakes from the players if they ever do.

As much as I have been fighting that is a very good idea, would satisfy many peoples want/need for "hair stylist" NPC. Although it would fill another useless NPC position it would be up to people to waste possible storage, but it would be their choice and only way I could see them doing that would be doing a NPC such festival hats but one would have to probably switch out head pieces before fighting XD

thank you
it would just be as designing a head armor or a festival hat... just the design would be hair style..... if they can design head gear armor, i don't see how designing one that would look like hair can be more complicated. and since it is "armor" we should be able to dye it as well, just like we dye armors

They should make some way to change your player's hair but simply limit it so everyone doesn't go crazy with it.
Make it so the option to change your hair is unlocked after your char has reached a certain age (6months-1year). Once you've changed it, you shouldn't be allowed to change it again untill another long period of time (around 6+months).

Sorry but you're just plain ignorant of the way people are. Everyone ages and as they do their tastes change (duh)....it's common knowledge. Some people have had this game for about 2 years now....do you really expect them to be satisified with something they'd had for a long period of time that hasn't changed at all? And this applies to more than just hairstyles in gw.

Of course it's not hard, anyone can delete a char and remake it.....but then, how are you going to regain all your lost progress? You should probably think before you post.

Correction: It has been stated numerous times that GW:EN is the last expansion planned at this time. In good old aNet fashion, they have left the window open to change their minds and create something else, but they aren't currently planning on any release after GW:EN (of course, besides the free updates you mentioned).
