If, upon final release, these don't actually change your appearance, I'm just going to scream. Really I will.
Loudly.
There's lame, and then there's LAAAAAAAAAAAAAME.
What, did they give us the sneak peek to show us all the reason's we shouldn't buy GW:EN? (coughHoMcough)

When you get the blessings there are only 5 skills.
Maybe the other 3 slots will get filled with skills as you go through the storylines of each blessing?
Much the same as junundu seige which you do not get as soon as you can use a junundu bar.

Exactly,
See Screen: Elite Skill. You take on the aspect of the raven.......
It doesnt say: You take on the FORM of the raven.....
Only Norn can transform, that whats the whole Norn race is about.

don't sweat it. the current abilities aren't as disappointing as some people are making them out to be; there will be much fur and feathers to be had in gw2
can't wait for FUR! and lots OF IT!

If GW2 turns out to be one big sweaty-palmed yiff-fest, I'll be having none of it, thank you very much.

Regardless of shapeshifting, the bear aspect is awesome. I was able to tear through the 'Blood Washes Blood' quest at full speed using it.

Lol @ "only norns can transform" bullshit. ANET has made more ridiculous things make sense.
For $40 it had better turn me into an animal.

And why wouldn't you gain the ability to transform in this game? After all you are helping the norn and honourary Norn. heh maybe if you get high enough reputation rank you can transform that would be interesting.

No it wouldn't make the Norn abilities completely worthless considering that there is no option to be a Norn in GW1. And no, it isn't fun being told you are a Bear or Wolf or Raven yet you still look exactly the same as you always do whilst you are those animals.
I wanna be a Bear now in EOTN, not 2 years from now in a completely different game. The excuse "Only Norn can change forms" is a really lame cop-out.
If they can give you a bear spirit and bear attacks like they do in EOTN, then they can definitely just as well give you a Bear body also in EOTN. Having a bear body makes every bit as much sense as having a bear spirit and bear attack skills does.
Not that a video game "making sense" should ever take precedence over fun and lead to fun gameplay features being gimped and having the fun sucked right out of them, as is happening here with animal forms that don't change your apperance at all.

I was thinking along the same lines, but then I remembered how short of a time it is to the release, so I'm thinking the chance for major changes will be slim unless implemented in a future update or is some ability needed further into the game.

Sorry if you don't find it enjoyable, but it does tell you that you only gain the aspect of the animals, not the actual form. They have never once said that you would be able to transform into animals, either in the previews or the game itself.
Ramming through wooden barricades and slaughtering an entire encampment of Charr single handedly, in my opinion was very enjoyable, dispite not actually looking like a bear.

I actually love that it doesn't change my appearance. It is a way to have a class/weapon combo that looks good but would be a poor build otherwise (ie. un-avatar-ed dervish with daggers).
I love these spirit forms.

Yes! Please A-Net make animal forms available to all classes so that instead of joining a group of human characters, I can join a group of random animals instead. Next, you can drop the name Guild Wars and rename it Zoo Wars to better reflect the style of the game. Also, what's all this crap about having to use a skill slot for the animal skills and being limited to certain areas only? I should be able to use my bear form whenever and where ever I want, even in towns, and especially in pvp. This is my game because I paid for it and I should be able to dictate it's design because it's my money. Thank you.

WAHT TEH... Dude....... It's your money, but you also gave the money to be able to PLAY not dictate it's design :S I'm confused dude.. that just sounds stupido I DON'T WANT IT TO CHANGE SO NO THANKYOUUUUUU And besides, Bear Form may be available in Guild Wars 2, but you can't use existing characters, and you can choose the Norn, or Asura races as well as maybe the charr(i don't know I forgot.. but I'm sure about asura and norn).
