>.< Meh, all of that requires that I change my secondary, and in Soti's case, waste time finding and capping a skill I don't have and will probably only use once. x_x; Though I do plan on eventually capping all elites on my Dervish, so I guess I'd have to do it eventually.

i did exactly the same, just equipped the club ,and clubbed it to death, i guess it was bugged in the sneak peak and got changed.

Hmm I tried the suggestions here as well as Earth tank and this is what I've found:
IW: not enough damage/defense
Ursan Blessing: not enough damage (but does have armor and
Earth Tank (dual attunement, to be specific): recipe for a very sore arm, due to the battle taking 50 minutes+!

Seriously, judging by how fast I was casting and the bear's HP bar, he has around 18 pips of HP regen with troll ungent.

For the doubters, after hitting him with Ebon Hawk, the bar was down to about NOTHING. I immediately cast Stoning for ~66 dmg, and he was still at almost no health. Aftercast delay +cast time = 1.75sec. Divide 66 damage by that and you get stoning doing 37.7 damage/sec for that brief period of time. That is over 18 pips of regen, almost 19.

Also, one of his attacks has a conditional knockdown effect, triggering the KD on the attack being blocked (can't remember the name). Problem is, I was being KD'd by it, AND I HAD NO BLOCK SKILLS!

So does the bear just get some sort of cheat mode when fighting eles, or am I missing a whole crapload of this battle's mechanics?

I wish I knew, theblackmage. I've temporarily given up on this quest and am currently doing the asura quests in hopes of eventualy getting better/usefull skills that will help me beat it. ~_~ (maybe summoning skills? My summon assassin skill can summon a..level 12 or 14...I forget which, lol.)

all i did was take volfen blessing and some healing, slammed on volfen and just went at him, if i needed a heal then undo it and heal then back at it
