You are being ignorent to the fact that alot of us understand you have little free time.
The biggest point is, why do you wish to keep buying the add ons when you have barely been through any of the ones you already have?
At the Age of fiffty, I think It would be common sense that you don't keep tossing your hard enerd money away buying thing you rarely ever use, especially if you already own things that haven't meet their full use yet.

EoTN is an expansion for lvl 20 characters; it's not difficult to realise why Anet wouldn't cater
previews for players that haven't reached the cap as there is no content for them in the final product. We've known this for months.
If you have not found the time to raise a single character to lvl 20 since Beta, then why do you even want to preview EoTN? Surely if you haven't been able to raise higher than 14 in 2.5 years, then you won't even begin to make the use of this content for months, maybe longer.
I suggest that if you feel this strongly about the matter that you either find yourself a more suitable job to cater for your needs or move on and find something that suits your current lifestyle.
I cannot begin to understand how someone of your age and experience finds it so difficult to grasp this...
-
Regarding Safiyas post: I can raise a lvl 20 in around 5 hours, including survivor title by starting him out In factions, and that's not even full pace. My process involves using cheap scrolls to lvl at mantids until xp becomes pointless, then taking all class quests before selecting and finally moving working through the quests/missions in a specific order. I arrive at Kaineng at 18+ and then XP rewards for quests get so crazy I'm lvl 20 in no time. I've raised 3 tier 1 survivors this way without difficulty.
Also your support with the amazon description is clutching slightly: If you don't take the time to do the proper research before purchasing a product then the blame falls entirely on your person, in my opinion. Sure, you can quote certain rights at me, but it takes hardly any effort to cross reference the details of an item or to read feedback/comments to gain a full understanding.
I'll say it again, (and this truly is not a flame of any kind) the OP argument is entirely ridiculous.

@wilderness: while I understand what you mean, I still think the Amazon example is a tricky one. If you scroll down, they have a few links listed under “Want to learn more? Check out news articles and reviews about this product.”
Following the links provided by Amazon, neither of the articles mentions anything about level 20 characters. Basically a person would have every reason to claim that they've informed themselves about the game after reading three summaries/reviews; thus it would feel like a safe buy (especially if you keep in mind that none of the GW games have had minimum level requirements up to this point – so why even suspect this limitation if you haven’t a clue?).
Regarding levelling your character: I asked about NF, not Factions – I trust your words when it comes to reaching level 20 within a few hours in Factions (last but not least due to my own experience), but in Nightfall?

Firstly, how difficult is it to cross reference an item outside of the window you're in? Maybe by visiting the items actual homepage, or by reading through any forums dedicated to it for feedback and news/reviews or specific details?
Secondly: Nightfall is a longer level, but I managed to raise a mesmer to lvl 16 (condensed time being around 8 hours, and this involved a lot of messing about with armors and trades) in two days. From there, I jumped from kamadan to kaineng and raised with scrolls/quests and Hey presto! lvl 20 survivor Me in 2 days, nightfall style. And you could run much, much faster.

Never thought to ask your son to log into your account on some of his free time to help you gain 6 levels? Seems to me your not even looking into all your options. Obviously if he introduced you to the game awhile back he would have a higher amount of gameplay knowledge for this game where he could get the levels faster anyways, then you could enjoy a level 20 character.
Another thing that fascinates me is the fact that your troubled for time to play the time, yet you have somehow made time open for playing this preview weekend? If not that this whole rant and all this flaming is completely useless. And if you actually have set aside some time to play this preorder weekend, then why not use about an hour of that time to gain the 6 levels you need to go play it?
Instead of going on and on about how you have no time to get to level up to level 20, you have come here and started complaining about how you cant get access, meanwhile you could of gained at least a level in the time it took you to type out your post.

Or if all else fails, simply pay to have someone power-level you. Or have a friend/guildie/alliance member do it as a favor.
All due respect to the OP, but it seems like your free time in-game would be better spent getting to 20 than ranting on an intenet forum...
But that's just one humble 23 year old woman's opinion.

Give your wife a holiday and go to work for your 8 hours then come home and cook and clean and do the laundry and make sure your teenager has homework done and medical appointsments looked after and see how much time is left for gaming before you go to bed bud and then you'll taste my life but just remember my days are 4 hours longer then yours not counting briefings and travel time and I'm 20 nyears older then you.
I'd really like to see you do all that 20 years from now. I'm unbelievable. No I'm a worker.

I suppose you were too busy to actually read what I wrote before you went shooting your mouth off at me. I work my ass off, and have for 25 years, do not presume to know my work schedule, I take VERY good care of my daughter (thank you very much), run my household, manage the finances, and constantly take graduate classes. So before you talk all high-and-mighty at me perhaps you should take a closer look at yourself and wonder why it is that, for all your talk of so little time, you have time to take to insult me and my household. So if.... and I do say IF.... you really are in your 50s, you should really know better then to make assumptions about those you know nothing about. Oh and "20 years from now" I'll be retired and living quit comfortably because I am a thinker and a do-er, so have fun being a "worker". Perhaps if you worked a little harder over the years, or better yet a little smarter, you would have more time on your hands and wouldn’t be stuck in a dead-end sales job that requires you to abandon your family for months at a time. Have a nice day.

Hmm, I can't really accept the idea that getting a character to level 20, especially if you have been playing since release, is a real obstacle or problem.
ANet has always stressed that EOTN would be for level 20's. They were nice enough not to require you to have beaten a particular Campaign or all the Campaigns, for that matter.
I was somewhat confused about all the copies of what campaigns you currently have as well as the need to go out and buy all three campaigns again. But, seems to me you could have waited since you haven't finished the content in the Campaigns you do own and play.
I think your rant is misplaced. It's great you like the game, but if you aren't level 20 after 2 years, then it seems to me you still have a lot of content left to experience with what you had already owned.

I would go through factions, and get to lvl 20 that way.
That is the easiest in all 3 campaigns. Jump to NF as soon as you can and pick up the inital hero's.
If you purches Nightfall PvP Edition - you will unlock a ton of skills for use with your hero's.

Agreed with whoever said it on the first page. This isn't "A Little Unfair to GW Players", This is unfair to you, and since you've obviously spent less than 10 hours out of the past 2.5 years playing the game, I don't think you classify as a 'GW Player'.
And also, since you've had less than 10 hours of play over 2.5 years and rarely get to use the computer or see your family, what makes you think you'd get so much out of the preview weekend that you need to post this thread and have a big rant at ANet?
In the end, its £3.50 and if you can afford to spend over $120 for a game you've played about 10 hours of over 2 years, I really doubt that this means that much to you.

More than anything, I think this is your major problem. You don't need separate accounts for each computer, you can have ONE account and just download the client on whichever computers you want (download from www.guildwars.com or use the CDs to install the client). You can sign on the same account at any computer (but only one instance of the account can be up at once).
Really, I think that's been the biggest obstacle to your play and to you advancing, if you're been spreading time across so many different accounts and characters. Use one account, focus on a character or two to advance for now.

I think you all are wrong. The guys has payed and he wants game developers to change all those monsters lvl 28, for some lvl 15 for him to play. He also has the right to ask them to lower the 10k armor to say... 500g a piece, so he can buy those too with a lvl 14 character.
And he also has the right to ask ANet to create some quest that gives him 10k XP as reward. So he can reach a higher level with all his characters in no time. Because you dont undertand people who dont have time to play a MMORPG but still buys it, and spend money in it.
I guess we all should learn from him and buy 45 mmorpg games, because with like 5 minutes a month we should be able to play at max level all those characters made in all those games.
We never learn to use our brains, do we?

So he bought a grand total of 4 copies of Prophecies, 3 of Factions, 3 of Nightfall, and 1 preorder for GW:EN all for 2 people. Not understanding that it is account based and you can install the client anywhere.
So your going to blame Anet because you don't know how to go to www.GuildWars.com and read a few things about the game you and your son are playing?
Sounds like the OP is the kind of guy who buys something requiring assembly and doesn't look at the instructions until he has put it together wrong.

No, it sounds like the kind of guy who buys something requiring assembly, a couple months later actually opens the box, pulls a piece or two out, scratches his head... leaves it on the workbench that came pre-assembled... comes back a few months later, looks at it... gets distracted, does something else... a few months later he makes another purchase for an add-on to the original purchase, decides it's unfair that he'd actually have to put the first object together. Gets pissed, registers on a message board and shares with the world how unfair he thinks it is, then gets distracted and does something else.
I wonder how angry he gets when he buys software and actually has to install it for it to work on his computer.

Let me see if I get this straight.
Instead of making a character and levelling it to 20, you decide to make a ton, level to about 15 or so, then make another.
Then you try saying that it is too hard to reach level 20.
Wow.

No, the highest level he's ever reached is 14. He's played since beta. ONE character hit 14. He levels them to 5.
