i do not understand why anet is so stingy at rewarding the players with faction points..i mean, they rather give a 15,000 experience point reward rather than 10 norn faction points for a quest..how does 10 norn faction points make a difference when you need a 10-times amount of faction point gain a rank in higher echelon of a title??

It's all about time sinks now. Because GW2 is far off, I guess they figured they'd want to put in tons of time sinks.
I was joking with a buddy about adding things and how far we could push the time sink for it.
NEW Dragon Mask!
Kill 10,000 dragons to get!
Some people will spend days to get it, but it only took us 10 minutes to modify the existing model.

How exactly do you conclude that a dungeon with 5 total chests for 7 guaranteed drops, including an onyx and fancy hero armor, constitutes bad drops?
If the chests drop lots of stuff or 'rare skins' all the time, prices simply further devalue and you complain that the chests drop nothing but common crap. If they drop rare stuff infrequently, instead the complaint is that there isn't enough loot. Everyone just wants a special reward that only they can get, and it's impossible to please people with that mentality.

That is the GW mentality summoned up in a single paragraph. Some want easy drops, some want l33t drops. Some people will grind for hours to get the new armors, other want it handed to them on a silver platter.
The only person that is truly happy is Mr. Average Joe, who will never post here.

Or, more or less, the fundamental flaw with Guild Wars. With zero character progression, there's little difference betwen GW an an Action Adventure game. The reward from Slaver's Exiles is just as good as the reward from beating Cave of Ordeals in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. (and the rewards from that dungeon sucked majorly.)

How do you know that he's happy if he never posts here?
Some people are more vocal than others. The rest would just shelf the game and move on if they weren't happy.

True, Zinger. However, People have to face the fact that GW will never match the P2P market with loot drops etc.

Omega - Educated guess. Most my in-game 'friends' don't post here, because they are happy. They accept that things need a nerf or a buff and they adjust with it. Thye accept that not every dungeon will result in a green, if they want that green they will redo it until they get it. Unhappy people will find a place to vent, this is why forums still exist. If eberyone posed 'happy happy' thoughts, places like this would die.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it
Opps double post

Why is this necessarily a flaw? I'm sure you're aware that some people like this game above others specifically for this reason.

There are lots of people that when they are unhappy about a product they don't say a word, but instead disappear and never come back.
Out of my friends, 2 of them left without saying anything on forums.
In business those are considered the most difficult customers to appease, and the least helpful in providing feedback to help manufacturers improve their product.
That's something I was taught during a seminar I attended for one of my old jobs. lol

There will be a few exceptions, there always is. If you done a poll of 1000 non-forum users, I'd bet that most are perfectly happy and a few will a few minor gripes.

Have to agree with that. GW is far from a perfect game, most people come here to share and discuss their opinions and ideas. However without a community the developer of any game would not know the best direction to go to. I mean there were so many people who were disgruntled about Factions and what it turned out to be. However if many people did not share their ideas and opinions, you end up getting a repeated history and the game would eventually die off.
Yes there is some off base criticism but there are positive points to it as well. At this point there is about an 80% positive effect to the way EotN turned out to be.
Anyways back on topic; I still have to get to that dungeon. There is just so much to do at this point.

You beat me too it, nor is this just a phenomena in GW - every single MMO I have ever played "suffers" from this. GW has a higher percentage, though in my opinion it is more because a decent amount of players are here for the "cheap" aspect and that has a high correlation with "not a critical thinker". Then, of course, there are some that just seem to like negative posts and jump on anything that has some resonation within the forum.
Not to mention that the GPH in listed so far is above about the best high end farming areas - the drops could easily have them afford items that *are* in the very rare category.

Sadly, this is true. Most PvE only skills are horrible, they could be allowed in PvP and wouldn't even be used.

QFT, i said this to myself trying to find any useful or fun skill to use, frankly there is no reason for me to grind those titles beyond lvl 5.... scratch that, level 4 (reskinned armor ftl), anet reword those pve skills, and plz make them a bit more powerful so i can maybe use some of them, maaaybe.

Hi!
PvP Balance is far more important than anything that will ever make PvE "cool". Sorry.
