HOM does not accept tormented weapons (?)
ok, so after obtaining my first tapestry piece in the hall of monuments, i tried to display my tormented weapons in the "valor" monument (either equipped or in a bag). i was rewarded with the following message:
"only the greatest weapons may be displayed here."
correct me if i'm wrong, but i was under the impression that tormented weapons are currently THE ultimate weapon to obtain in-game. i searched both wikis and apparently only GW:EN specific weapons can be stored in this monument.
i am extremely disappointed about this... why can we store armor/pets/titles/minis/everything else from other campaigns, yet the true elite weapons are excluded??
/sobs in a corner of my HOM

Not even the Droknar Weapons (GWEN Endgame green) can be put there.

I guess that makes sense .. in a way since they're the reason for the expansion, but I found it to be shitty when you couldn't even put an Ele sword up.
I selected my green wand/offhand, nothing.
So I figure let's go get my Ele sword. I go back .. same message.
I look it up on Wiki, apparently just GWEN weapons.
I thought golds, but if just Destroyer Weapons, that's .. not good.
But whatever.

OMG, weapons monument seems like a joke to me ATM. We were getting great weapons for 2 years and now I'm allowed to keep 1 skin which i dont even like?
Wow, I'll be feeling really priviliged in GW2 with my uber rare destroyer weapon, 5k a piece...

I tried putting my gold Aureate Blade (GW:EN skin) on the "Valor" monument, but it wouldn't let me.

So yeah, my friend managed to put his destroyer shield in HoM. I think it's safe to say only destroyer weapons can be used.

Well, that sucks. We should be able to put whatever weapons on there that we want to have displayed. Looks like I'll be keeping my monument empty, but whatever.

since this one is not broken SPECIAL GWEN is all that is going in.
1. thay already specified special GWEN only
2. the only thing going into it will be the items for GW2 unlocks
3. make ANY exception at all and then you get the avalanche of people saying you did it for that item now do it for this one.
4. no matter how much you worked/spent/love an item if it is not one of the preapproved GWEN items no way.
5. EOTN is a spot on the game map
HOM is a little showcase on the butt of that spot on the game map
i am waiting for the screams of anguish that all those billions of gold items cant be tossed in and use the monument for an extra storage

It's not about storage, but I think many people would like to showcase their favorite looking weapons and such. I wouldn't mind just showing any weapons that look cool, not one set, kinda pointless to me.

I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about the sheer lack of items that can go in that monument, not even the end-game greens can go on it, which is kinda lame......

Actually, if you think about HoM and all the inheritance factor, it does make sense that only certain specific items are placeable there. HoM is suppose to show that someone in the future GW2 has actually played original GW1, and thus be the only ones to have a certain specific weapons that are not available otherwise through normal GW2 gameplay.
What if the chaos axe or whatever other weapons are placed in HoM and that those same skin turns out to be normal drops in GW2? I can already imagined many people whining that it makes them look crap and claim that they wasted their life playing GW1 already since their items they stored in their HoM = normal drop is GW2. We all know the drama level in those forum a-la-GWG.
Since only destroyer weapon are the only items transferable, it would be wise to say that it would be a unique skin available only to those who played GW1. If it is not, I dun't see the purpose of HoM at all. What's the point of transfering a max dmg weapon into GW2 which turns out to be equal to a common drop in GW2, or even a weapon that ANet might not create an equivalent to it in GW2?
With time, Anet might increase the range of weapons, but to go and think that they will allow all weapons into HoM is a bit absurd.

Well I think any/all uniques should be allowed to put in there since the mobs they are from long be dead in most cases.

Sounds plausible to me... Actually, I thought that it was those green items that would have been accepted in HoM before GWEN came out... like you know a reminder that you killed certain boss in GW1 and your lineage see that weapon and know that big daddy slayed x boss to get that weapon. But that's only my opinion.
But then, there are so many green in GW1 that it is bound to be over-crowded like the minipet section. In that case, not such a good idea >.>
