Overeact much?
This will be fixed...
but even if not, isn't the main point of this weapon to be kept for GW2?
I mean, it's not like these are unique stats. Keep the weapon to show off the skin, then switch to a real axe once the battle begins.

wow example #3452652 of how Anet messed up HoM.
did ANY thought go into this, other than how to hype it in as many magazines and web sites as possible?

My guess is that it's a bug. We've all seen plenty of bugs in gw:en so they will probably change it to add 20% damage, or to make it still customizable at the crafter.

I wanna know the answer to this too. At least then others' weapons will not suffer the same fate as the OP's via this workaround method.
Can someone please verify whether you can customize it at a weaponsmith and then put it in HOM and keep the damage bonus or not, then post the answer here. Thanks.

That's not what we are asking. We are asking if you can customize it at a weaponsmith before it goes into the HOM, and then put it in the HOM and retain the damage bonus.
OP did it in a different order.

I seriously doubt it. Then again, we don't know just how bugged the hall is as it stands.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. Yes, it's a glitch that ArenaNet should fix. But personally, since re-inventing my warrior I've never bothered to customize any weapon, noting its resale value. +20% gives you a definite edge in PvP, but doesn't amount to much in PvE since it all relies on build setup and knowledge of the enemy.
I'm sure some others would argue an extra 12 damage makes all the difference in the world when you're fighting in a full party but...I've beaten the first three games using heroes that still had their starting weapons on them with no problem.
So if I get a good weapon that the monument accepts but ArenaNet hasn't yet fixed the glitch...I'll still go ahead and make it into a statue. (Or whatever it gives you. I've only activated the hero/title/armor monument as of now.)

Does everyone remember when everyone hated the hall for not having pve title additions? Now it does.
It'll probably change later.

seems like a small problem that wasn't intentional, they're very likely to fix this.

Destroyer weapons only so far heh? I guess the green obtained from killing a god won't suffice, heh? Hard to imagine . . ..

I REALLY hope this is an oversight and soon to be fixed. Jeez, all these careless mistakes, cut corners, and bugs... I would have gladly waited an extra month or so for Anet to work this crap out before releasing GW:EN and charging for it.

QFT. This is obviously just a bug.

Errrr, this is nothing. I'd like to direct your attention to anything in Sony's online gaming arsenal.

Quoted for truth. This sounds like something that should be retroactively fixable, like the planned update to change minipet customization.

well, about waiting another month to smooth out all the bugs...honestly, this is how they find out about them. a dev team would take a year to find all the little things...but give it to 4 million players and they find all that stuff relatively fast.
so, i'm sure this'll be fixed, in the meantime just live with 20% less dmg that most people would usually not have (few pve'ers customize their weapons).

So... seems lesson on this one is Go to weapon smith first and customize it, THEN go to HoM with it? I have not found one yet but I expect thats what you will want to do since HoM will customize it anyway...
BW guys it normally takes them 2 to 3 months to make any major revisions to something like HoM. I made my feed back threads with that in mind... I don't really expect them to "Tweak" anything in that regard until around Christmas... Basically Minipet holder for customized pets (like festive hats guy) and a better title organization tool... as well as possibly other maxed titles in HoM...

Exactly. It is obviously a bug, not a feature.
Write to support or something where you can tell them that you found a bug. It's that simple. I'm sure they will be giving us a nice big update soon to fix all the other bugs that show up in the game.
Pretty much every game on earth has bugs when they are released. Then they get patches. Just a little patience...
