Different ways to earn rep points
Right now the only realistic way to earn points towards norn/asura/vanguard titles is to go through a whole zone killing every little thing in it. I don't know about the rest of the player base but the dungeons are FAR more interesting (Meaning I have a chance of dieing). Why can't we get some points for the respective factions by clearing their dungeons? It was like this in the preview, I believe I got between 500 and 1000 for clearing the dungeons then, why was this taken out? Unless we find ways to clear dungeons in under 10 minutes it's still not as fast as vanquishing an area, but it is FAR more fun, and thats the biggest problem I have with these titles (and the faction ones, but those are hopeless now). I'm not saying that we should get titles faster, just that there should be more exciting ways to obtain them. Why can't minigames have better rewards? Add some options to increase the difficulty and give more points, right now its pitifully low. A great many people are complaining about grinding right now, and while I don't agree with most of what they say they have a point: the ways to get the reputation now are horribly boring compared to some better ways that could have been implemented.

during the preview weekend, it was 500pts EVERY run but now i think it's only 500pts the first run then 100pts everytime after that =( *sigh* so yea there should be a choice to increase difficulty to increase number of points u can earn

That's what Mastery of the North is for. As far as repeating quests, may as well fill up Hero's Handbooks in the meantime, those are worth 2500 faction points to whichever faction you turn them into, and you can get another when you have. 11 repeatable storyline quests, that's it.

The only real goal in terms of acquiring rep points right now, is for the armor. Which requires a rank 5 (26,000 reputations). The reason why people are complaining that it feels like a "grind" is because the expansion has only been released for 4 days, and acquiring that much reputations in just 4 days is, although not impossible, extremely grind-ish.
If you go about your quests casually, acquire 1000 rep points per day, you can reach rank 5 in just a little over 3 weeks, and considering that EotN is suppose to fill the gap between now and GW2, I'm almost tempted to say it's not enough rep points.
If you're talking about maxing out the title, then it's suppose to be long. Very few titles can be maxed out by spending very little time on it.... like say, 4 days?

WRONG! Rep points are also for boosting those nice new PvE skills. I don't care about the armor but boosting the PvE skills is very frustrating. Nightfall had a MUCH better points system.

You don't need r9 rep points to use the PvE skills, they're effective even at r2. If not, then either you're not using it correctly or just wait to r3.

i played a lot and i've rank 4 in norn & dwarves , 3 on asura & vanguard , and if i wanted to max all that i'd need a whole lot of time .. well for only one character ...
so i think they are a bit high but possible in their actual form

If anything, dwarven points are the easiest to max. Snowmen dungeon runs take about 10 minutes (I run MM and take along 3 SF's) and are worth 1k dwarven points per run, bare minimum.

no real point to grind out these titles right now, because they are near impossible to max. After you get to rank 8 you can't get bounties any longer. People believe this is until a hard mode is put into gw:en, in which case farming points should be easier anyway.

That's not true at all... the quests simply do NOT provide the rep points at a fast enough rate. If you could get a decent amount of rep points by clearing dungeons, doing quests, and playing the game, then there would be no problem at all. The problem is that the ONLY way to get rep points is to go around killing random things for hours and hours... that is grinding. It isn't that we want the armor to be given to us for nothing, it is that we want to WORK for it, not go around pressing C+space for 3 hours, rinse and repeat.

...and picking up bounties along the way. The quest along does not offer enough rep, but the bounties are part of the process, and they contribute a large percentage. 90-100 enemies per explorable area, you don't even have to visit any explorable area twice to get to at least r4. This is no different than what Nightfall has, sans less quests and missions to reward rep points with.

...hours and hours of killing random things an hour a day over the course of 3 to 4 weeks, instead of 3 hours a day will diminish the problem. Meanwhile you can continue doing quests and mini-games at a leisure pace.
But if you want rep points that quickly, then of course you have to go on a killing rampage 3 hours a day... but soon you'll just burn yourself out doing that. The flame that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.
The point is, wherever your reputation points are right now, it's probably at the right place, if you feel like you're grinding, you probably just need to slow down and chill.

I myself have stated that I believe that having a certain rank to acquire armor is completely fine. The problem is that grinding is the only way to reach the higher ranks in GW:EN. Grinding, like farming, for one hour a day is still quite redundant. If everyone farmed one hour a day then I doubt you would see so many people begging for enough money to get max armor. Plain and simple, people don't like to farm or grind. There's nothing to do about it so complaining is futile, but just for kicks I'll put in my recommendation: Add master difficulty quests that reward points. Make them possible to complete of course, but make them a lot more difficult and more rewarding than grinding in explorable areas.
I've gotten to the point that I enter a mob and let the henchmen and heroes attack while I watch T.V. Run to the next mob. Repeat until boredom reaches that unknown level you've always thought existed but never knew for sure. Then close Guild Wars out of pure frustration because I wasted an hour grinding A.K.A. "Absence of Any Skill" farming.
I love GW:EN, but when I reflect on the time I've spent grinding (not much compared to some), I still feel like I've just lost a piece of my life.
My message: I'd rather have my skill tested rather than my patience.
