They added the armor set to see if they could add a little bit of extra content without people QQing about it.

I think the armor's pretty cool-looking, myself. It's one of the few armor sets I'd consider buying. Damn shame I'll never get it because I only play Warrior class every now and then, though. That bias has always been there. In the beginning when it was just prophecies, 3 classes had 7 sets of armor, and warriors were one of the other 3 classes that had 8 sets instead (the ones that had 7 also only had 4 elite, and the ones with 8 had 5 elite). Along with that, warriors were given a special warrior-only rune, which is still the only class-specific utility rune. But worst of all, early on, warriors had 2 or 3 non-set pieces of armor with special effects (the only thing similar for another class was the corpse-use boots for necromancers).
