There is a group of 15 Spectral Vaettirs in the SE corner of Jaga Moraine, near the exit to Bjora Marches. I've marked the location with a red circle on the map. The collector is marked with a green circle.



This is what I used to solo the Vaettirs with my ranger:

R/Me
14 Wilderness Survival
12 Domination Magic
9 Expertise

[skill]Melandru's Resilience[/skill][skill]Backfire[/skill][skill]Shatter Delusions[/skill][skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill] and (Cry of Pain)

Probably works better on a mesmer primary, but it did the trick. After you clear the area of Vaettirs, you can rezone using the portal to Bjora Marches and start over. On average it took me a little under 8 minutes to kill the Vaettirs and rezone. It's really easy cause you can aggro them one by one and they mostly just die to Backfire. The drop rate was 35/118 (around 30%).

My guess is no, since none of the other max collector armors do. It would be a shame if that is the case, because I will have little motivation to obtain a set.

They can't be dyed, but they do take insignia, which is pretty sweet

theres mine, i just farmed the mesmers to the west of Silfalia for a while.
and no they cant b dyed, but u can put Runes and Insignias on um...

any warrior with fow has got the gloves yet? I wanna see how they fit (I bet badly). Then I will have to make a dervish and give them to him xD

unless the war chest piece(shoulders) does extend all the way down to the arms from the shoulder, it looked pretty crappy.

I tried it w/ my primeval. it cuts it off pretty badly....I think I might need to get a GWEN armor set just to make the glacial gaunts looks to fit.

It does look good in other sets.

Well, I got mine before I found this topic, and solo farming them didn't even occur to me, because, well... I'm dense
I farmed them with myself and two heroes - Gwen as backfire/lifesteal, Tahlkora to keep us alive...
I got between 1-4 stones per run, and each run took about 5 mins max, so it was still pretty quick, but I'm sure there's a more effective way =]
