Why the armors sets doesn't look like the armors wear by the faction NPC ?
Hi !
I just discover the new armors sets and I am so disapointed. I just don't understand why norn new armors sets don't looks like the armors the norns actually wear... The skins exists because npc wear them so, why player characters don't be allow to wear them ?
When I discovers the norn, I think :' well, that's splendid armors norther viking barbarian like!'. I hope for example the male norn warrior armor looks like conan one... The actual warrior norn PC armor is so crappy, old style and more of all it don't match the norn style...
Why the armors sets doesn't look like the armors wear by the faction NPC ?
In the same thought, the heroes have some very nice amor set, why could we acquire them ? The skins exist too... so...
More of all, GWen is the last chapter of GW so, why GW don't offer their Player Characters the possibility to wear some 'look like heroes and mercs' armors we drool to for a long time like the Eve or the Cynn or the new Gwen (not mention Livia one... Yes I play mostly female character).
With this short, recycling skins, farming based addon, GW begin to lose all the credit it earn with the previous chapters. It's a sad end for a so brilliant saga... and a bad omen for the forthcoming GW2
A disapointed player

Yeah, the armours have gotten a lot of negative feedback.
I really think we were pampered with Factions. In my opinion the Factions armour was the coolest GW will ever see!

Sorry, but player available armor has never looked like NPC armor. This will most likely be the case in Guild Wars 2 as well. I suppose it's to avoid confusion in outposts and to give every character a more unique feel instead of having everyone dress like an NPC.

I just figured the artists figured their best work was too good for mere players, hence NPCs like Baradin got the cool stuff while we got the second tier stuff. Some look good, but they'll always be second tier to NPC armour I think. It's probably deliberate. The poster above me is probably right, the same will be in GW2 if you plan on playing that one.

They don't like exactly the same, but when you buy a kurzick armor, you don't expect to get a vabbian style armor. Same here : Jora's armor = viking style, female warrior norn armor = something like eastern europe barbarians style.

I don't see how having everyone using the same ten or so armour sets (most of the others are reskins, especially most of the GW:EN armours) can be described as unique, whether they look like NPCs or not :P

The norn armor skin exists because the norn wear them? The norns are twice as big as our characters. So no, they don't exist.
Also, the Priest of balthazar is a priest, so he has special priviliges to wear those clothes.

Size of the model makes no difference. My Ele is the same scale difference between myself & a small female monk as the scale difference between a Norn & my Ele. Scaling a model is no big deal.
They COULD have started with the norn models and made player armor, but they didn't. It really bothers me that the Norn armor is almost unrecognizable as "Norn". I mean, c'mon, the Ascalon Armor looks almost as "Norn". I can't understand why they do these things, except to make the players look up to NPCs as 'cooler' then themselves, which may well be the point..
