Well, my whole team was at 60% and I didn't think I was going to be able to win because it basically killed off my whole party in one hit, but then I realized that the wurm popped up right next to the bomb guy. Now, I'm not sure if he will always pop up next to him, but since he did when I fought him I just had a monk put protective spirit on me and I charged next to him and started spamming bombs from the bomb guy and brought my heroes and henchies in to deal some extra damage while he was putting his armor back up. I got enough bombs off to get him below 50% health. I brought bombs to his next locations and he turned back to the previous location next to the bomb dude and I was able to use the previous bomb strategy again. So, all it really takes to beat him is a good strategy because my team was not set up in the least to fight him.
In recap to beat him all you need is: Protective Spirit + Madd button mashing skillz (to get a ton of bombs for the bomb guy) to win.

Figures. The new build came about 30 seconds after I accepted the "Heart of the Shiverpeaks" quest.

It's still fairly easy to beat it, as mentioned in a previous post, I took two touch rangers and one really poorly skilled smite monk with me (I didn't do much other then die) with a prot monk, healer monk, interupt hench, and I can't remember what my other was. In less then one minute, quest completed. No bombs involed. Mind you I do not doubt this will be 'fixed' soon.

Yeah I got him the next try. I used a few interrupts on myself and Jora, which effectively kept him from dishing out any real damage. He popped up next to Bludger so I spammed barrels on him until he was just under half health. At that point he burrowed and popped up elsewhere, so I hit him with Grenth's Balance and "Finish Him", which is quickly becoming a favorite combo of mine for bosses.

I killed him the first time with a friend/alliance buddy of mine + heroes, we were not prepared (so no SV necro, etc) - but what we did was, I was dropping the kegs near him, while the other 7 kept attacking. A couple of rounds and he was dead. Even with -60 DP

it's easy, i have a tank, a ss/sv (or backfire/emphalty mesmer) and a bonder.
1st of all, crack his armor so he will spawn next to blackpowder the next time his armor recovers. Bond the tank and the ss, let ss casts ss/sv/insidous parasite (or backfire + emphalty if you bring mesmer) behind the wall so cyndr cant get him, and the tank charges in so cyndr can hit/cast spells on tank, hence damages himself and eventually he will die.
