I MP I - Well done with that iamge. But you have to admit it looks better in GW:EN than they did from the other other campaigns.
But, i have to agree with the some of the parts about them not being too great looking. I was depressed by the Monk armors. But they look better than most Prophecies ones. And i guessing they skipped the Tat's. But overall they arn't THAT bad of reskins. If it was a completely different region i could understand completely different armors. But, its not. Same place. They just changed them up a little. The Main endgame armors are really should be the different ones.
If ya dont like them then dont buy them? Then you dont have to worry about trying to enjoy them.

So your saying the reskins of Faction and Nightfall armors in GWEN make sense because its in Tyria? Your saying the Norn or Asura are not new races offering new items and armors? Dont give me that crap that Gaile Grey does. She said it makes sense because its the "lore of the land". Thats utter bull crap. She has to make everything sound all nice and cheery. Sure some of the reskins are beautiful looking, even better than the original, but why would i want to work or grind my butt off for reused armor. Even alot of the armor is mix and not match like the warrior Monument armor.
Everyone who is enjoying the reskinned armor, more power to you. But you are few and far between. My entire alliance, and other guilds and alliances i know of, plus the majority of the guild wars guru community are greatly dissappointed. Reskinning armor and weapons makes no sense because it limits or eliminates alot of the content after beating the game and beating the dungeons.
And my opinion about the dissappointing armor is a majority view. Yes tastes are different when it comes to armor, but when ALL the armor is crappy reskins, everyones tastes get stale.

Okay, this is not normal for me to "defend" ANet. I have been very critical of them about nerf after nerf, specifically the Soul Reaping nerf. I am bashing them up and down over in the Grind threads for all the grind in GW:EN. I firmly believe that without the voice of criticism that we find in the forums, this game would not be what it is. Without the 2800 post longest thread ever in Guru history about the SR nerf, we would still be at the nerf hell of once every 5 seconds. Grenth unionized, great. No, criticism is good.
But for pete's sake, you folks are talking about art. If I got a book of Van Gogh and showed them all to you, then you're not going to like all of them! In fact, look at any artist and you'll see that their styles change as time goes by, and that early Van Gogh is not like later Van Gogh!
It looks like the style of art direction in ANet has changed. Who knows, maybe someone got hired or fired for GW:EN, and they have different tastes. I'll wager money that the art staff at ANet are not a bunch of total california surfer hippie slackers, well maybe they are but they do good work - look at the landscapes and other art in the game, its nice!
I'd think that armor is entirely cosmetic, and if anything would get players such as yourselves fired up it is gameplay! Why are you forming a pitchfork mob about art, when the game has gameplay flaws like excessive grind?
Just my 2 copper.
Thanks!

What about Norn armor? With the possible exception of the mesmer armor, it looks new to me...

Personally need to get this one....Ancient + FoW = <3
I really think the petition should be this:
DROP THE COST AND TITLE REQUIREMENT OF THESE ARMORS ANET
Its not worth 10k + materials + the grind. Armors thats easier to get looks much much better.

I find it a tad depressing that they reskinned parts of THE Elite armor (FoW) for Ranger. It cheapens the idea of FoW armor for me, at least, if not for anyone who bought it. Why even buy FoW leggings and hands for Ranger now, when you can get a poorly done reskin which looks basically the same, for 1/8th of the cost? Could it be that they found no players actually bought FoW for Rangers, because it was so ugly to begin with?

Well I was actually going to make this combo with FoW + Ancient, but this set matches together better ;P
I actually like Ranger FoW a lot, its very "soldier-like".

@ Gattocheese - As for you saying that over half the community is dissappointed with the armor, your saying you know the entire community? Or are u jsut saying half the people you know dont like it? Did u buy the game just toget new armor? I didn't think so. But, I can bet your still gonna get some of the armor. Can't wait till hear how u hate GW2.
@ Tobasco Sauce - I agree with what your saying about the change in art. They did hire new people to work on the creation of GW:EN as they did for GW2.

I myself will probaly be done with Guild Wars. Theres only one title i want and no armor worth a dang right now imo. There is no end game content in GWEN. Nothing left for me to do. Yes i love to collect or work for armor and weapons for my character. Its a shame that GWEN didnt have what it promised. I wish Anet and Gaile Gray would realize that the majority of the GW community is disappointed in the armors, and not a small amount. Maybe they do, and not wish to acknowledge it because they have our money. Maybe they cant add additional armor to please everyone because thier team is working on GW2. Who knows. I believe GWEN is worth maybe $20. I hope people who have not bought GWEN have read the thousands of posts of upset or disappointed people.

Well about an alliance full of people, thats 100 members, for 10 guilds, plus every outside guild i talk to is disappointed. Its not half, its the majority. I do not have plans on buying armor, nor GW2 at the moment. I know some people like the armors, and like i said, more power to them. ENJOY! But when you read the post Gaile started herself, to the this post, to other posts about the price of GWEN, EVERYTHING! You know something is wrong. I dont know the entire community, but i can say the voice is clear, everyone had high hopes, and most people were disappointed in the final product.

I've never seen this much of an uproar about an issue like this. We were fine with Factions, fine with NF, but this...Even some of the most respectable people - who's opinions have always been logical and that I've always admired - agree that these armors suck. That says something.

Just like to say that the Asuran armor, reskin of the 15k Imperial for the Assassin, is probably the best armor makeover they've done. This is the only set that I truly have my heart set on at the moment.

@ ANET
Fire whoever made those armors seriously. My HERO's should NEVER EVER Look better than me the real HERO. Also reduce the cost of those pathetic skins to 1.5k plus materials. They are not worth the platinum or grid required for them.
Furthermore WHERE ARE MY GREEK ROMAN TYPE PARAGON HELMS! The community has only been looking / requesting these since Nightfall release almost one year ago. This was the last chapter of GW1..
What a way to go down in flames ANET.

At least I don't have to title grind for armor that I don't want...though I'd much rather work towards a nice set of armor I CAN blow all my cash on...
Canthan is great, Elite Kurzick is great, Vabbian and Primevil is great (on female warrior, I mean). There are 5 armor sets for warriors in GW:EN, and all of them are pretty dull / downright icky.
I awknowledge that there is little to no chance of REPLACING the already existing armors many people are wearing; there'd be a lot of backlash from the...few...I'm assuming, that like their current armor, but making NEW armor sets would make lots of people happy? Just a thought.
If not, I could always get run to Grotto and get 15k Glads, haha...
EDIT:
And the hero armor for the Assassin hero looks [email protected], it's friggin AWESOME. If the sins had that armor, I might actually consider making one!

Exactly. The fact is, even if we can't get a poll or truely know the "majority of the community" (just because its IMPOSSIBLE) doesn't mean we can't get a general concensus from what we see here on the forums.
When even the dedicated fanboys like me (I'll admit it) start to get dishearted, you know a.net did something wrong.

These armors are so obviously lazy cop-outs. The spin Gaile has been putting on this situation to make it seem like it is anything less than a lazy cop-out is sickening to me as a customer.

I totally agree! Gaile started one of the first threads asking what people thought about the reskinned armor, and she got so much negative feed back she tried stopping the thread. Then she had the nerve to say its a great job and that they prided them selfs on it. Why did she even start a thread about it if there was nothing wrong with it?
Sorry was thinking of something different. It was actually Gailes talk thread and she didnt actually start the conversation.

Yes, actually it does appear that Norn, for the most part, is not reskins, (or at least well done ones) although some of the armor is a tad boring. (Assasin female in particular).
Funny, wasn't Norn armor the only one available during the preview? Catch my drift?

The armors have been leaked since around July. People thought they were fakes.
Even if Anet didnt allow us to have armors during the previews, those pics were out.
