HoM Achievements in Guild Wars 2
I'm still a bit confused about the HoM... Is this hall merely a trophy case and that is it? Will anything in our HoM be usable in Guild Wars 2? I know we can't take our characters, our heroes and I assume not even our mini-pets to GW 2. What about our titles? Also which titles should we be grinding for? Do they all count if they are maxed or only certain ones? What I'm most curious about are the Destroyer Weapons... Since they are the only ones able to be displayed, does this mean we can use them in Guild Wars 2? If so, how can that be possible since they are customized to our characters... I think at the VERY least there should be a way to take the weapons over. If anyone knows the facts especially regarding our titles and the destroyer weapons please post! If you have any links to where you got your info from I'm sure that many of us would love to take a look.

They have never really said... But it seems to be a major point of speculation that it will be somewhat more then a trophy case... But it also seems that its not going to be a way to move things directly forward exactly either. It will probably be some kind of unlocking system for your linked character. Prob things like special PvE arcane skills unavailable any other way but from the HoM and from GW1. Or unique Armor skins unavailable any other way except via the HoM... Other rumors have the Mini pets becoming selectable emotes in GW2.
Point is No one knows yet. and Anet just is not saying yet. Indeed I am thinking they may not even fully know how HoM is going to fit in GW2 yet themselves.

This has been asked time and time again, the short answer is "who the hell knows?"
No one does. At the moment its all speculation, and if this thread just goes the same direction as other before it "to heck " its going to get closed
We'll have to wait till GW2 comes out or A.net tells us.

I really want other elite weapons to go into the HoM
My most prized weapon is a perfect Zodiac Hammer. It dropped for me in the Deep.
It has no inscription but it is req 9 15 > 50. I know hammers aren't worth much but it is from an elite area and I'd love to be able to put it in the hall.
Its one of only 2 perfect melee weapons I've had drop in 2 years.
So if you do read this A-net , don't just keep it to the destroyer weapons

What I am most curious about is whether or when the Hall of Monuments gets "locked," as in, no further achievements or additions get carried over to GW 2. My Halls are currently empty save tapestries since there is no way to customize what displays other than adding the titles/armors you want displayed last. I'm not interested in shuffling several million/billion times to get the combination I desire. I hope they announce a cut-off point if they implement one.

As others have said, no one really knows for sure. But there have been some examples that I read in some interview with one of the devs. I don't remember where I read it, or which dev was being interviewed. Hell, I could have dreamt the whole thing, but I don't think so. Anyway, what was said there was that achievements would unlock certain vanity type things in GW2, such as special hairstyles and what not that aren't available if you didn't unlock something in GW2. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't allow anything to carry directly across.

I believe that someone from Anet has already said that you can continue to add stuff to the HoM even after the release of GW2, so I don't think that it ever gets locked in that sense (except when GW1 servers die, of course). However, it would be nice to know whether it is only the stuff that is on display in the HoM that benefits us in GW2, or whether it is everything that we have recorded, no matter whether it is on display or not. I think it would be the second one, especially if there is no efficient way of guaranteeing the stuff we want is on display. Also, I doubt anyone would be happy if they worked towards all this stuff, maxed out as many titles as possible, upgraded all heroes, got every rare pet, got every minipet they could get their hands on, bought every elite armour, only to have only some of it mean anything.

I think Gaile said once that it's too early to tell, but the answer is currently "no one knows"
